Hi, was wondering if anyone could help me out. I use Hwinfo64 (5..05
-2635) to control my fans. I have the fans set at certain temps and they work great.
My issue is Hwinfo64 starts with windows with no problems, however in order for the fans to start running using what I have set up, I have to click on the hwinfo64 icon in the task bar, then go to sensors. When I do this this screen appears, i then click on the small fan icon, which causes the fan control screen to the right appear. I then hit minimize all and my fans are now working using my settings as needed. They do not activate with my settings unless I do this every time i log onto windows. This wasn't always the case. After one update (unsure which one) this began to happen, instead of it just working using my fan control settings. Its not that big of a deal, but today my nephew was using my laptop gaming, and it was running overclocked with the stock fan speeds. When I use it I obviously know to crank the fans up. If anyone can help I would really appreciate it. I will post photos of the settings I have for hwinfo64 for all 4 tabs.
Maybe some of my settings are incorrect for my system? I have tried to follow Mr. Foxes pages using his helpful links bookmarks, but if anyone notices a wrong setting below, please let me know.
Laptop specs: alienware 18, i7 4930MX, 780M's in SLI, 32 GB ram, Two samsung 840's in raid 0.

Are you wanting the fan controls to start automaticly?
Here is the forum post for it http://www.hwinfo.com/forum/Thread-Solved-Autostart-fixed?pid=2942#pid2942 you add OpenFanCtrlMin=1 to the hwinfo ini file toward the end of it.jtravapd8578 likes this. -
Dude, I been going nuts trying to figure out what I was doing wrong. This fixed it. Thank you a million times . -
so long as you have that line of code in the INI file and have hwinfo set to auto start at boot then you're ok.

my machine was just called the alienware 18, from 2013 I believe. yes i can control all three fans seperately however top speeds on each fan are different. I believe mr. fox had a explanation why the speeds can't all go up to the same top speed of 3700.
