This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Not only that, I wouldn't give up my connectivity either.

    Forgive me if I'm wrong, but there is no eSATA on the M18?

    eSATA is my preferred method of backup.

    HDMI in is cool for the dash cam too.

    That's correct. No e-Sata on the 18

    The 18 has HDMI input, but it shares the same port and the HDMI output.

    Yeah, I use eSATA also... and ExpressCard. I have several devices that I can't use with the 18.

    It's a bummer that they did not at least introduce Thunderbolt to make up for the missing ports. If I were going to have to go buy new peripheral devices I would want something better than USB.
