With my tax return im going to be grabbing my 780m's, (do they need to be the alienware ones or will clevo ones work?
But knowing that 16gb ram, sli 780m's will run pubg, will my 2630qm be enough?

With a 780M, i think the 2630qm should be fine, but you should definitely consider upgrading to the 2960xm in the future.
@Raidriar may know more about the GPUs though. -
thank you
and definitely want to get a 2960xm, but im waiting to see if i can find a decent deal on one

Forget 2960xm, 2920xn just as good and cheaper. 780M works good, best card for m18x r1
-
the 2920xm looks really nice for the price point. does it overclock nicely? (even though at 3.5 it doesnt need to be overclocked much)

i run my 4.4ghz 4 cores no extra voltage

what thermal paste do you use? And im guessing you have the three pipe cooler (just bought the last one on ebay :3)
how hot does it run at 4.4? -
yes 3 pipe cooler, i use liquid ultra, forget using normal thermal compound at that speed. under max load + elevated rear end, temps are in the mid 80s, during gaming though usually upper 60s-mid 70s
-
Im guessing that Liquid ultra is just a more reasonably priced alternative to thermal grizzly Conductonaut? but those arent bad temps
Also - How do you have 980m sli with a 2nd gen chip? doesnt the r2 only support 3th gen? Or can i use a 2920XM (or current chip being 2630qm) in a r2 board? -
Sandy bridge chips work fine in the R2 motherboards. Some very early M18x R2 shipped with sandy bridge CPU. I personally sold my m18x R1 motherboard and upgraded to the R2 versionColaMonster likes this.

Mastermind5200 Notebook Virtuoso
makes sense, but yeah, a 2630QM should be enough, but might be a bottleneck, also I don't believe PUBG correctly utilizes SLI anyways.
Is a 2630QM enough for pubg, or do i need better?
