Elpida isn't generally a good thing versus Samsung.

But better card, in which she stands. Samsung bad memory, it is impossible to disperse. Good memory Hynix.

In just about every overclocking circle, people see they got Elpida and get pissed.... The only time that companies usually use Elpida? Is when they run out of Samsung. -_-

this vBIOS is a larger zip file... the previous one unzipped to under 100KB but this one is 129KB zipped, which is the size of my 780M vBIOS. What.

Where the HELL did you get the other vBIOS?

Nope. Try again. This vBIOS you originally posted is MUCH smaller... you claimed to have pulled this from your GPU. There's no "wrong" way to pull a MSI vBIOS from an alienware card.

lol hey brother please stop.. the 1st bios you linked is different.. different in the identafying string in gpu z and in size.. hell even the clocks are different as well as the power tables..
    and the memory..

so please just stop. I dont know what your playing at but i dont aporeacate it at all.. 1. these cards function but not corectly.. 2. are these cards good enough to get by? sure! but there no where near as good as the 780s..maybe on par but not better..

I for one do not belive your cards work any better than ares.. you havent put up one bench mark not one and we have all asked you Mr perfect cards.. so now please for the love of god if your cards are good then great!
but put a markvantage bench results with your forum name.. or a 3Dmark 11 score or even some fire strike.. some thing.. because if they are doing what there supposed to then that will tell us..

now 1 of 2 things are going to happen.. 1.we are all going to shut up and eat are words.. or 2. you will be proved as being a phony and lying about your results..

so wich is it.. are you going to put up some scores for us to compare to or are you going to come clean... because your scores wont lie..

You're not really doing yourself any favours, mainly because you're not answering people's questions fully, if you continue to do that then people aren't going to take your results seriously. I think you should either answer people's questions or just not bother posting anymore. If you had answered people's questions properly from the beginning we wouldn't have had 3 pages of thread trying to find out if you're being legit or not.

DumbDumb and mitya_alba, are you guys both on crack?! Why are you running 3DMark06 to validate the performance of your 880M and/or 880Msli - that's just ridiculous! 3DMark06 is CPU limited even on my machine with an overclocked 670MX (equivalent to just below 780M stock performance) - 100% GPU usage rarely seen due to CPU bottlenecking. This makes 3DMark06 completely irrelevant for testing GPU performance of modern day cards, and renders your comparisons to each other meaningless. You guys need to be using 3DMark11 at the very least. DumbDumb, I really hope you were joking when you suggested the 3DMark06 bench after 'calling out' mitya_alba!

Well apparently he has a golden setup for the 880M. Low temps on every game. It might even be able to outperform a desktop 680 with such low temps and wattage headroom.

AND WE CANT GET A STRAIGHT ANSWER OR EVEN A MODERN BENCH MARK RESULT OUT OF THIS GUY..

HE IS JUST RIDING THE TROLL HIGH TRAIN ON THIS ONE..

I BELIEVE HE MODIFIED A STOCK VBIOS ON THE SMALLER VBIOS HE UPLOADED FIRST AND HAS OVER ALL BEEN PULLING THE WOOL OVER ARE EYES WITH EVERY ONE OF HIS POSTS..

Good, I thought there was a possibility you were joking (making a point) asking him to run 3DMark06, but couldn't be sure, no need to write in CAPITALS! ;-) Although, you're not really helping asking him to run 3DMark06 to prove a point! Try 3DMark11 to get this thread back on track (try 3DMark11 & Firestrike mitya_alba).

If someone on here truly had a great working 880m gpu you would think they would be more than willing to help others out by doing some things others ask so they might be able to fix there's or give them some ideas.
If I had one I would do what ever you guys ask if it would help you guys out.

You have a modified vbios. How do I know this? Max voltage of 0.887v. There isn't even a 780M that can run its much lower stock clocks at that voltage. There is, however, my cards that will run 836MHz at that voltage (faster than 780M) without any issue and no, with fans on they don't pass 70C.

Zero throttling and max 73C is very good man. :)

Im convinced there are many that have working GTX 880Ms, but at the same time some have issues. Silicon lottery probably.
But I also think there are some variance from OEM to OEM. Alienware 18 have the least problems maybe?

Although mitya_alba will not deliver out the vbios on its GPU he should at least shown off bench results on 3DMark Vantage and 3DMark 11. It had been nice and seen a gtx880m that worked as it should in these tests ..

Yes, these alt + tab screen shots with a game running idle in the background don't tell us anything.
We need to see a benchmark link like 3D Mark so we can look at the data. Was there throttling? What temps did it occur. Easy thing to provide for the community here no?

You're not going to get it. Max Voltage of 0.887v says everything. There isn't any silicon out there that can do 993MHz @ that voltage.

    Most 780M cards struggle to hold 954 @ 0.95!

Ever since I uploaded my vBIOS on Nov. 25 (see my post below), did anyone actually test my newer
stock Dell vBIOS and report out whether it is stable (low temps and no throttling) for them in "demanding"
    gaming situations?

My testing (last post below) was limited to benching (3dmark11 - P8423, 73C max temps, but did not open
gpu graphs while testing... since I was not sure how to do it in HWinF064), and did not include gaming.

It seems we have been sidetracked for several days, questioning mitya_alba "perfect 880" assertions, his
vBIOS (which he initially claimed was the same as mine, but wasn't), and his testing methods.

So I just picked up a Alienware 18 with Dual 880M that had a creation dat of May 2014. I'll gladly run some tests if the people here tell me what you'd like to see and where to get the software.

Note: I'm going to try and grab the hardware monitoring software tonight for the GPU overlay.
