    Hi all,

Ive been reliving problems with this killer card and its the exact same problems as i had with my M17x R4 where ping spikes are making some games un-playable.

I cant remember what i did last time, or even if i did make it a solid functioning card but when i was researching before about this problem i remember some people saying you should just get an Intel card (cant remember the name) as its so much better and no problems.

So two questions really, any fix for these issues? Theres plenty on the web but not many solutions.

And the other is there a really good compatible card?

Intel 6300 seems to do real well and you can get them as cheap as $15.

^^ That's definitely the best option IMHO.

It is a serious downgrade. I've tried 3 different Killer 1103 aka Atheros AR9380 cards and they ALL have drop out/pinging problems, whether they use the stock Dell drivers, the newest Killer drivers, or the latest Atheros driver, which is a damn shame, because this is a half height version of the AR5BXB112 which was the full sized AR9380 and that was a WONDERFUL card. I also recommend the Intel 5300/6300 N or the AR9280/AR928X which are some of the best half height wifi cards on the market.

Thanks very much, I was hoping to get some consistent replies. In respects to all 4 you mentioned is there one you favour or all as good as each other? Can't wait to get rid of this crap, its like having virgins 150mb broadband with high utilisation which I've become a custom to lol.

I know pathfindercod, Mr. Fox, and I all run all run Intel 6300 cards I believe. It is a very good card, and it receives fairly constant driver updates from Intel. I will be tinkering with the Killer 1103 EEPROM to see if things can be amended...

Sweeet :) you'd think the actual company would put half the amount of effort in as the community to fix things.. Typical.

Yeah well...Intel usually makes solid stuff. However if you have no use for the 1103, I may/may not need another donor card in case I brick mine trying to hack the EEPROM to work properly ;)

This is what you want: http://www.ebay.com/itm/HP-ENVY-17t...319008?hash=item4642140520:g:PFAAAOSwN81WDanW

Unfortunately I live in the UK so with the import charges I'd guess it would amount to what the card would cost to buy anyway? And this is what I purchased half hour ago :)
