    Hi everyone.

I'm hoping you might be able to give me some advice on any upgrades I could purchase for my Alienware 18.

I think the RAM is already maxed out.

Would a new wireless adapter be an improvement at all?

I have no problems with performance really, but I am being asked for xmas ideas for people to buy me so I thought my laptop would be a good idea.

Ive attached so current info that might show any possibilities.

    Graphics - 2x Geforce 880M 8GB
    Ram - 32GB DDR3 (1600MHz)
    HD - SANDISK X110 MSATA 256GB
    PROCESSOR - i74940MX @3.1
WIFI - INTEL DUAL BAND WIRELESS AC 7260

    thanks a lot

    Honestly, it's pretty maxed out.

Maybe a better SSD like 2x Samsung 850 Pros in RAID0

or even better 2x 980M SLI

otherwise it's a good spec laptop.

Thanks so much for the response.

The 980m’s installation? Is that a difficult job? Compared to a graphics swap on a desktop pc?

It's not that difficult though, the Alienware 18 is -SUPER- easy to disassemble, I wish all laptops were this easy.
Just watch a youtube video if you're nervous, but seriously it's the easiest laptop to take apart that I've ever stripped down.

It's not hard yes, just time consuming. Be sure to take your time and make diagrams of where the screws go so they all go back in the correct spot.
