    Well, nothing lasts forever. If you use the machine in a warm environment frequently that may have contributed to GPU fatigue.

    Before giving up, I would try a clean Windows install to see if that helps. Something as simple as a screwed up Windows Update can cause a lot of performance problems. You can make a drive image of what you have now. Clean install Windows, drivers and a couple of games and benchmarks. If it works properly, then start the process of reinstalling the rest of your games and apps. If it makes no difference, you can restore your original image and not go through the process of reinstalling everything.
