    Hello Alienware-Fans

I have a special problem here and I hope you can help me.

My 2011 M18x has a keyboard problem. Some keys do not work correctly. I mean sometimes I push a Key and the Notebook does not react. (for example the delete key. The problem always occurs on the same keys)

So I decided to buy a replacement:

The original keyboard is German with the model number: NSK-D8D0G the DP/N 0MND7V.

The replacement is also German with the model number. NSK-D8D0G But the DP/N 0W63D2.

But when I use the new keyboard the keys are wrong. But not wrong like with a wrong keyboard/language setting like English or Russian. The key setup is completely weird.

When I push the "2" on the number block it writes a "w" when I push an "a" it does nothing when I push the "s" it writes a "ß" when I push the "w" it writes an "a".

So I thought that the keyboard I got was defekt. But then I got a second replacement. With he numbers: NSK-D8D0G But the DP/N 0W63D2 the new repalcement reacted the same way.

Is it possible that I have the wrong keyboard?

What does the DP/N Number mean?

I hope you have some advice

    Thanks

    Yours
    N

Hi @Nupraptor, welcome to the forum!
Pretty sure DP/N is Dell Part Number, that would explain why your getting the wrong key response.
Hope you can source the right keyboard and get your M18x running at 100%
