    M18X R1 - 460M SLI - 2630qm- A05 stock bios (reverted from A05 unlocked)

So i recently got myself the sata interposer ribbon cable thing so i can use my hard drives again on my m18x. i installed windows 10, all the drivers, windows 8.1 OSD application, and i could not get the computer to swap into HDMI in mode. I chalked it up to faulty drivers for windows 10, so i decided to install windows 7.

After installing windows 7, installing all the drivers directly from dell, still nothing. "Please connect HDMI input device"

Ive tried 4 different HDMI cables, tried connecting to my main rig, (doesnt even seem to notice its plugged into anything) tried an XBOX one, nothing at all happened, and tried m18x directly back into itself, no luck.)

I tried reverting from the A05 unlocked bios to the stock, still no luck. tried uninstalling and reinstalling the OSD application, nothing. if anyone has any tips for things i can try, id be eternally grateful :)

Have you tried not connecting the cable entirely? I find that my unit is very picky at that. I sometimes have to slowly connect or loosely connect the cable to have it work.

Make sure you have gpu in PEG mode

BTW: it works in Windows 10, im using it with 880M SLI. You don't need drivers for that feature to work.

retried the hdmi cable, slowly, quite a few times, no effect.

And ill reinstall the unlocked bios to check that again, but it 100% was in Peg mode, i know there are a few different spots in the bios for that stuff, is there any other settings i need?

Sorry guys - found the problem. read on another thread a guy wasnt able to get his working properly possibly after changing disk drive to another hard drive, so i thought "maybe when i removed my cd drive something isnt reading right"

so i strip my machine, and the ribbon cable is just sitting there, on the spot it goes, with the latch up, not in place. i guess maybe i didnt try the usb ports, but i swear i did.

moral of the story - always check your ribbon cables. thanks guys!
