So please forgive me for not being up to speed, its been a year or two since I last logged in. Last Time I came here, I think I inquired about the 3940xm, which I did get, and did install. At that time windows 10 was a NO NO, it was doing 'virtual bricking' of the machines. I know now that it works without issues, so I have already upgraded to it about a week ago, zero issues.
So my big question, is I have 680m SLI in my machine right now, whats the 'no hassle' upgrade version cards I can get? 980m's in SLI ? I want drop in, but willing to do some modding as needed, but still want to be able to be 'portable.' also suggestions on places to get the cards would be great (guessing ebay).
Thanks for the help!
Jon

I purchased from CEG but there’s also Woodstock and Eurocom you could buy the cards from.

if you dont have alot of money or are like me and don't mind used/refurb products check ebay lots of Used 980Ms for ~500$ compared to the price of a new one at ~1000$ so basically u would get 2 used cards for the price of one new

Right, I am checking that right now, and I am TOTALLY ok with a used setup
BTW, it also looks like maybe I should be doing a single 1070m instead? That way I save the cost of buying TWO cards? And it performs just as good or better then the 980m in sli ? -
I would recommend the SLI 980M Setup... as it should be cheaper, however if you can get a 1070 (nobody has tested it should "technically" work the same way the 1060 Mod does) then yes I would go that way... It performs 2% worse than 980M SLI (In games that support SLI) and uses alot less power. pretty much go for whatever option is the cheapest.
