Don´t remember if I asked this question here somewhere. Couldn´t find it though. So here I go either way.
I can´t get the macros to work ingame that I set up on my m18x. I can take up for instance the notebook, and see that they actually do work. But when I play a game, they don´t. Any ideas if there is a setting I must change or something to make it work?

Make sure you quit all your monitoring programs (GPU-Z, HWinfo32, CPU-Z etc) as those can sometimes block the macro input. Also, only with Dell's video drivers macros seem to work fine, with the 11.5 and 11.6 there are intermittent issues.

What settings are you talking about, btw?

Not sure if I understood this correctly since english ain´t my first language. But I play it in windowed mode at 1920x1080. I have the Nvidia SLI card in it. Where do I upgrade the video drivers then, and is the 11.5 and 11.6 that you talk about Nvidias drivers or ATIs?

11.6 means (11 year, 6 month), always from Ati.

Don't remember if you asked the question before? You have 4 posts as of right now. Easy to find out:

    Your Posts

Now unless this is a new ID because you forgot your old one, It's just as easy to look it up too if you remember just your name.

EDIT: Hmm, maybe its a language problem, like you mention later........ the way you phrased the question was personal because you said "I" maybe it should read........"I Don't see anywhere if anyone asked this question already" :) Or "I can't find the answer on here"

Any ideas on where I can find the dell video drivers? I have GeForce GTX 460M. And is there any1 out there that has the Alienware m18x that don´t have this problem? Could it be hardware issues?

I now notice that I can´t even change between the different macro set ups. there are 5 button on wich I can place macros, and above them is a button that makes me switch between 3 different set ups. So I can use 15 macros in total. but i now noticed that I can even switch between the different set ups once I´m ingame. It´s like buttons don´t work when I´m ingame. Outside when I hit it, they change color that I set up and macros. but not ingame...

??? I am trying to help you with your problem........... English.

If you can articulate what you need then you can get the right help from people. As for your macro buttons, I can't help you with that, I'm trying to learn about these machines as well, so thx for the question on the machine.

Thx. But I´ve described it as good as I can. The buttons just don´t seem to work once I launch a game. Can´t switch macro groups. Nothing. the entire left side seems dead...

Nope. As I wrote. Nothing happens. I have each group set to a specific color. They change when I´m on the desktop etc. But once I load up a game. They are stuck on one color and nothing happens when I click to change macro groups and the color.

You probably have something in the background blocking the input (GPU-Z, OC'ing tools, etc). If not, it's a driver issue. Are there any error messages?

Nope. No error messages. How do I turn off the GPU-Z or the OC'ing tools? Have no idea what that is, and can I turn them down, or shut them down, without braking anything else?

If you don't know what it is then you don't have it running. Let me do a few tests with my machine and see if I can reproduce the issue...

I now also been in contact with DELL support in Sweden and they highjacked my comp to try and fix it but couldn´t. Then asked me to do a clean installation to see if that helped but it didn´t. So they now said they send the info to DELL main office. So if anyone can fix this before them, then I tip my hat for you... ;)

What game? I know I have issues with some games and other macro keys (Logitech keyboard and mouse) I believe due to the way the game handles keyboard input. The game I have had the most issues with is EverQuest.

Yes, I think it depends on a game. Tried Crysis (no go) and Dragon Age (works fine).

I´ve tried Starcraft 2, Mortal Online and HoN. And everyone fail... They say it SHOULD work, and they think that they might have to fix a driver for it or something. But it could take weeks b4 they come back to me with what to do...

Oh, so you had it fail in Crysis, but worked in Dragon Age? That´s something. But it should work in ALL games. So something ain´t right here for sure.
