Nice! I wish I had a 3920XM or 3940XM, although it won't help since I'd need to do a dual power supply mod. My overclock needs more power lol. Just did this run:

You can still squeeze a little bit more on 1 x PSU.
That's an good physics score you've got with the 3840QM there

That's... odd. Your physics score is lower than mine when I ran with a 3.8GHz 4800MQ. You should not have such a low physics score with a 4.2GHz 3940XM. Are you using throttlestop etc? Making sure it doesn't downclock itself?

Thanks D2, No I'm just using Intel's XTU to oc the cpu. No idea how to use throttlestop

You should try using it. 4.2GHz vs 3.8GHz shouldn't have the latter CPU winning, even if it IS 5% strong IPC

My 3940XM is also acting in the same manner tbh... It's a bit irritating... Also Blossom, I think the main problem is that your clocks are hardly much of an OC... You should easily do +200 core and +300 memory.. Have you flashed Svl7's unlocked vBIOS to do this?

You have much more performance you can eek out of your 3940XM and 680M SLI.. don't give up yet ;)...

The 680M really starts stretching its legs past 1ghz core clocks.

Just did what D2 Ultima said and use throttlestop and hwinfo64. I've also oc'd my cards to +200 core, +300 memory results are below

Max temps on cpu cores 95*C and gpu's 85*C
fans kicked in max speed 4300rpm 75*C as set in custom fan profile. Still don't understand why 3dmark is not using my max gpu's clock and memory. Also my cpu is not performing well in benchmarks.

Physics scores are fine for CPU... My 3940XM does about that much on 4.2GHz in benches.. main problem is your temps.. You need to repaste your CPU+GPU... Do that, with lower temps you'll be able to push much more...

Considering you are running Windows 8 and hitting 95°C (which will throttle the CPU) your Physics score is better than it has any right to be.

Yeah I might oc back to 4.2ghz I think 4.4 was pushing it on Dell's TIM's both cpu+gpu. Thanks guys for your help and advice

You might want to repaste.. Stock Dell thermal paste is junk... It's not too hard to repaste in the R2 isn't it?
