Just released...
NVIDIA GeForce 345.20 WHQL Notebook Game Ready Driver
NVIDIA GeForce 345.20 WHQL Desktop Game Ready Driver
Wonder if it will do anything useful for the Alienware 18 and M18xR2 with 980M?
I will test it with 780M SLI in my M18xR2 and 980M SLI in my Panther and see if it has any issues. If not, I'll provide an INF mod for it.

WHAT?!? That does NOT sound very good at all. Security updates my bobo! They need to just find a really high cliff some place for their retarded executive leadership team to jump off of it. If they need help, I'm willing to push the first guy over the edge.
And, I wonder what the deal is with two drivers being released today, both with that nonsense about security updates, and totally different numbering branches? This is getting way too weird.
Edit: Hopefully, their notion of security doesn't mean some kind of protection to block or interfere with end-user INF mods. I guess we will find out in a few minutes when I do my INF mod.Last edited: Feb 25, 2015 -
They have added more features with this one: blacklisted all known overclocking tools, included Nvidia Inspector and you are only able to download digitally signed drivers directly from Geforce.com
They made some browser hijacking feature to enable this -
That does not appear to be accurate. I just modded the desktop driver and found it has no issues with overclocking, using tools or modding the INF. NVIDIA Inspector works fine and so does EVGA Precision X. Performance is identical to 344.75 WHQL. Will post some addition evidence shortly and a desktop mod for Alienware and Clevo. I need to finish testing with 980M SLI. I just finished testing with 780M SLI.

True... very true. Sneak, rotten scoundrels, they are.

Cloudfire, don't given them any funny ideas. I have it on good confidence that Nvidia visits this forum. Often.

Yeah, to make sure @pidge stays quiet...

pidge = ManuelG for those who still don't know

Figuratively or Literally?

Literally. They are the same person under different forum handles.

Lol.. well doesn't that make more sense now. We never had a chance.Mr. Fox likes this.

Yeah, he's Nvidia's QA and online/social media customer service guy who posts on a bunch of different tech forums for GeForce troubleshooting related matters. I believe here and Steam are the only places he uses pidge, everywhere else he's ManuelG.

Okay, I'm confused I thought the latest driver was 349.65?

Yeah, but it's a clock-blocked garbage driver. We don't mod those. We just ignore them.

I've tried every nVIDIA driver and the one which gave me the best performance is 344.75
that seems like the magic number for me:

Yes, there is always a lag on actually getting a GPU driver packaged up and shipped out.
-
Sorry I meant 347.71 lol

I've installed the 345.20 on my desktop cards.
This driver set is definetly comparable to 344.75 as far as performance goes. I've regained with this driver set a good physix / combined score on syntetic benchmarks that was not so good on the previous versions. Also the fix they implemented lately (ex. Dying light proper SLI support) are present too.
So far so good, i'm going to keep them installed
EDIT: nevermind.... when i was trying Dying Light SLI was not enabled... once enabled i've got the usual flickering.
Reverted back to the old (new?) driver optimized for Dying light..
I don't know what NVIDIA is doing, this driver seems like a rebranded 344.75Last edited: Mar 2, 2015reborn2003 likes this.
