I have an Alienware 18, it's my pride an joy. It recently died on me... RIP =(

I have tried a few odd ways too get it up an running again but I am thee most computer illiterate person you have the misfortune of meeting Haha.

I have turned to contacting Dell to arrange a replacement under an extended warranty as apparently it's a failure of something important. But... And it's a big but...they have now asked for proof of purchase! I bought it ages ago, why would I still have the receipt!?

I paid in cash from a local computer store and I have no way of obtaining proof.

I need to resurrect my '18'....please help me! Any suggestions for getting proof, like a receipt or something.

    Thanks guys, your awesome.

Cant they just use the service tag and see if it matches your name?
If its a serious shop, they should be able go back in history and find receipts if you know the date or month

with Dell, you don't ever need a receipt. All the history is in your service tag stating your warranty type and validity.

There is usually a sticker on the bottom with service tag and express service code.
