    GeForce Hotfix driver 355.80
GeForce Hot Fix driver version 355.80 that addresses the following issue:
    • Excessive virtual memory consumption for SLI configurations running Windows 10
Shame that they are more concerned about virtual memory consumption than LCD destruction.

Hopefully, 355.80 bricked one of the Alienware displays at the NVIDIA engineering labs and they pulled it because of that.

While I hope so too, it was because Mad Max and MGS:TPP came out and needed game-ready drivers

How the tides have turned, where nVidia drivers are junk and AMD drivers are actually kinda OK.

Wouldn't things just be a whole lot easier if the software developers were "game ready" and always did a good job that didn't have to be corrected by AMD and NVIDIA drivers, LOL?

Yeah, let's just make all the games as close to metal as possible. Compatibility, stability, performance and optimization are the sole responsibility of the game devs, not the driver teams at AMD and Nvidia.

I read a fairly lengthy post about this from a developer and the kind of visibility they have into the drivers, there is a reason why nvidia basically has to release a driver update for every game that is released, I believe it's due to the developers not having access to the proprietary tech that nvidia uses I believe, it has been a while since I have read it, but it is basically impossible for devs to fix all the problems with the game on their own and need nvidia to collaborate with them fairly closely.

It definitely needs to be joint effort to have optimal results, but things would turn out a lot better if the driver teams were not constantly having to mop up the game developer vomit. They could focus on optimizing rather than cleaning up messes.

Yeah, but when they keep using the same game engines and release new titles (at full price) that are little more than glorified DLC, they shouldn't have as many issues as one might expect if it was their first rodeo. I'm sure RockSteady Studios would love to place all of the blame NVIDIA and AMD for Arkham Knight being such a huge mess. And, then we see patches that break games that weren't broken before they got fixed, blah, blah, blah.
