Hello guys, so my Alienware 18 (2013 ed. with 780M) just randomly went from running from wall power to on battery for no apparent reason. The green light on the power supply is on but the computer is just running on battery. I tried a different wall outlet, restarting the computer, unplugging the power supply, waiting for the light to go out, and replugging it into the wall outlet and the laptop...nothing helped (yes, the power to the house is on). I did notice on screen though, every time I unplug the laptop from the charger and then replug it in, the hourglass on the cursor shows up briefly, but the laptop still runs on the battery power.

Any suggestions would be helpful as I have 1 hr and 36 min left..

Edit: Sorry guys, the problem is solved. I right clicked on the battery icon, then clicked on "desktop mode battery charge", then clicked on "charging battery to 100%". Sorry about being a noob here haha.

Glad you got it figured out. That "desktop mode" junk has thrown quite a few folks for a loop with unexpected behavior. As you figured out, just disable it and everything works right. Good job!
