    Purchased AMD 8970m CLEVO for M18x R1

    I have purchased CLEVO 8970m for my Alienware M18x R1. I am looking for another 8970m to put them in crossfire mode. Should I put DELL VBIOS on them or not?

    WOW... I just saw now that there is no DELL 8970m VBIOS available. What am I going to do now!?!?

    Dont worry it will work just fine with Clevo BIOS with your M18X-R1 there's no need to flash it, but I'm looking forward to know if crossfire would work with 8970m... keep us informed ;)

    I think its not possible. Only paired with a similar gpu.

    I had dell R9-m290x. There was an issue to install the cf cable on the M18x-R2 in the secondary slot because of the cf connector location. The connector is located right in front of the heatsink, so there was no room for the cf cable to sit comfortably. I am not sure if the Clevo 8970 cf connector is in the same as the dell R9s. If it's different , you probably will able to connect the cf cable.

    Test this out by installing it in the secondary slot and see if the heat sink is in the way of the cf connector.

    Clevo 8970M has the normal CF connector, they don't need that stupid cable. That's why I've been trying to obtain a pair for such a while....

    And same as 6990m... Same spot... I have done reboiling professionally on my 6990m and will sell them when I receive 8970m :)
