I'm actually using my old Alienware messenger bag used for my 17" m5750 and the Alienware M18x actually fits.

im looking for a backpack myself for my upcoming alienware 18, and the Everki Titan looks great, however 200$ for a bag ? is there hidden gold inside ? sounds a tad expensive for a bag.... but the Everki beacon ( older model) also looks good.
    1) how much better is the Titan over the Beacon ( built wise / handle weight wise ) ?
    2) can the alienware 18 fit inside the Beacon ?
    3) or should I just go with the Alienware orion / vindicator bags ?

I mentioned above that the Beacon will fit the AW18. You can also find a Titan for a lot cheaper than you mentioned.

Check out the Targus XL then. As I mentioned, it says it's for 17inch laptops, but my M18x R2 fit into it. It was tight, but it sure did fit, and it gave it a snugger fit than normally.

The 18 won't fit in the Targus XL if the M18x R2 was a tight fit. You can try, but the 18 is bigger by an inch or two. The only solution is to try the Titan bags or buy Alienware's bag.

Now I'm using Everki Advance 18.4 briefcase picked up cheap @ amazon and got to tell you guys, really wonderfull messenger bag! It has great internal compartment for your 18'4 alien and also has spare side pocket for whatever you may fit, I have tried it fits two of my 330W PSUs with all the wires and still there's some space left after for mice etc, plus has handy slide-in pocket outside the bag. Shoulder strap is very tough built, has metal clamps to the bag and has anti-slip grippy-pad for your shoulder. Couldnt ask for more than this, everything is there, very nice and distinct looking bag.

So I picked up this Case Logic briefcase style bag for my m18x R2 from Amazon for a pretty reasonable price. Although Case Logic usually makes pretty sub par items, I have to say I'm so far impressed. The case is very well put together and made of durable materials with ample padding inside. The case fits my m18x PERFECTLY, no wiggle room but it's also not a stretch. The side pocket is plenty big enough to fit my 330 brick, surge protector, mouse, and various other odds and ends. The shoulder strap is sturdy and has a nice gripper pad as well.

If anyone is looking for a great fitting case at a steal of a price, I highly recommend you give the Case Logic PNC-218 a shot.

I have a aw18 coming soon, what are the thought on vindicator backpack?

I had a Orion in 15" size and I loved it, hence considering vindicator. Or if vindicator is not worth the money, anything else to be considered?

I too am also looking for a backpack for my upcoming alienware 18. However, I am looking for a leather backpack. I don't really like the alienware one's because they are too "out there". I know it won't be cheap nor light, but if someone has a suggestion please let me know.

Can confirm that it does not fit in the Targus XL as i bought it thinking it would as it said "18.4 inch notebooks"

If you like to troll ppl then the Alienware 18 R1 fits into the ASUS rog backpack with the charger and a few more things.

It does fit the M18x R1/R2, so I'm not particularly trolling.

You could just unstitch the laptop holsters sides, and see if it fits then.

I have a targus XL, my 18 will not fit.

Alienware has stock of the vindicator 18. I ordered it Friday, out for delivery today.

I called Everki and the nice lady that answered the phone took the dimensions of the 18 and took them to the warehouse. They confirmed the 18 will fit the sleeve, advanced and of course the Titan.

I am ordering the sleeve as added protection after I see the vindicator today and make sure I'm happy with it.

I use an Everki Titan and Lunar with my 18. Both are tight fits, but there's enough space and padding that I'm more than comfortable using either one. They're much, much nicer than the Alienware bags as well.

Vindicator is here. The 18 fits beautifully. Have plenty of room for the AC adapter, mouse, razer nostromo n52, headset and lots of extra room for odds and ends. In my opinion much nicer than the Orion bag. Also recieved the neoprene sleeve or my 14. Ill try to give a more in depth opinion and pictures later.

I got an old Targums bag, it's few yrs old but fits m18r2 loose, so I am hoping it will fit aw18, it's almost new since I got it for m1730 but never used it, because ironically it was too big. If it doesn't work then everki Titan will be ordered :)

Anyone knows Everki's sleeve for 18.4" laptops? The component dimensions are a not going to fit an AW18 due to its' height, but looks like there is room to spare for width-depth. M18X appears to fit in, even in papers again it shouldn't due to its' height.

I called Everki yesterday and the lady that answered the phone took the dimensions of the 18 down tot he warhorse. She called me back three hours later. Said they have a test block and the dimensions are a little bigger than the 18 and it fits just fine. She said they are made slightly larger than the advertised size because they know variations in manufacturers.

Long story short, my Everki 18.4 sleeve will be here tomorrow. I will update for sure if it fits or not and how well.

I am thinking getting that or this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsonite-1...id=1377718967&sr=1-6&keywords=18.4+laptop+bag Based on the reviews it appears it could fit a G74Sc which is taller..

Hmm all these satisfied Everki customers in this thread made me wanna try them... I wonder if the AW18 in their sleeve will still fit in their backpack now! :p

I just finished traveling from Afghanistan, after tour #8 to SWA, through Dubai and back home to Texas (Fort Hood) and have to say that the Everki Titan is in my mind "Battle Tested". My M18xR2 was safely (though dead...) in my Titan and sustained no damage despite Taliban/Al Q efforts...

Traveled nearly 9000 miles and this was the best backpack since the SwissGear that carried my M17xR1 for nearly 3 years.

Not only carrying my M18xR2, it also carried my government issued Dell Lattitude, but other snivel-gear.

Get it, live it, and love it no matter if you've got a M18xR1, R2, or NewGen M18...

Yea, this thing is huge. It could easily fit another two 17s in the middle compartment.

Doubt it, at least if you want it inside the notebook sleeve in the backpack as well. It's a super tight fit.

Thanks for the picture. Looks like it. I worry putting the laptop directly inside the pocket, if it will get scratched or something! I am really careful with my staff. I am disappointed tbh that there isn't like a Speck's case for AW. I know they are not ideal when gaming and they add (even more) bulk to the device, but they surely protect it. If I didn't have my Speck case on my MBP, it would end up with tents everywhere.

Bummer... I was gonna order one to keep mine in around the house, but I guess not now. The Lunar messenger bag fits, and is pretty low profile if you're looking for a slimmer case. Plus you can fit any accessories you might need in it as well as the laptop.

I don't think the laptop will get scratched in the pocket. It's lined with some very soft faux fur material, and the zippers have a lining on the inside to prevent the metal from contacting the laptop itself. I've been using my Titan and Lunar for several hours a day the last few weeks and my 18 is still mint, without a single scratch. I guess if you're really rough with the bag, you might have issues, and any unforeseen drops will probably be bad no matter what. I'd love some extra protection, TBH, but nobody really offers anything at the moment.

EDIT: Oops. Forgot to edit this back in to my last post.

The Titan, does it have enough space for like a console in its' main component? Similar to the original PS3 dimensions.

I worry as I saw that my AW17 could get scratches easily + having books, etc isn't really helping!

I have had the Orion Messenger Bag for my M17x as well as M18x for years and have loved it! Mobile Edge has always replaced the bags after minor rips and/or bad zippers etc... with no questions asked. They even take your CCard, ship you a new one and all you have to do is pay shipping back.

I received the Vindicator 18 Briefcase and while I like it, it doesn't seem to be as sturdy as the Orion backpack. The hard front cover is gone along with the front cover concealed storage, in fact, the front of the Vindicator is kinda flimsy and the Alienware Head does not have the shiny onyx look to it (kinda dull). Another thing missing, and I don't know why, is the handle pass through on the back allowing you to put it on top of luggage safely. The craftsman ship does not seem to be equal to the Orion IMO... If they added the handle pass through I would probably be more satisfied and recommend it.

    Just my 2cents.

Ok... for those that are interested, the DuraGadget sleeves that I purchased for the M18x work perfectly with the new Alienware 18. Here are some photos of that sleeve, the new Vindicator backpack and a little extra Alienware gear for the 18. It's not checkpoint friendly, but I do like the Vindicator. This is a really nice backpack and I personally think it is a nice successor to the Orion 18. It's not quite as bulky as the Orion, but most people will consider it a very large backpack. Like the Orion, it shouts "ALIENWARE" and that's one of the reasons I like it.
