I've been having a strange issue with my beast for awhile now, but I have never really been able to figure out what could be wrong with it. For some odd reason, the computer will start to freeze up, or more specifically, HWINFO will freeze up, and the only way to "unfreeze" it per say is too turn off/turn on the wireless card by pressing the physical button on the chassis. Needless too say I have an 1103, and these stupid 3x3 cards are riddled with problems.

Any ideas on what might be the problem? I am tempted too say its the wireless card, but I'd rather tend for a second opinion first.

I've had the exact same problem as you. I have the same wireless card. It's caused by hwinfo64. To prevent the "freezing", you have to disable the "LPC & EC Support" in the hwinfo settings.

I see, but it seems that by doing that the fan control no longer works, which is lame. Is there any other work around/fix available that keeps fan control available?

EDIT: After doing some reading around, it doesn't seem like the problem has been solved or any workaround other than the one presented has been shown to work as consistently. I'll update this post if I find anything new regarding the issue. The current solutions are:

Disable LPC and EC support in the HWINFO64 "configure" menu

Right click on the Compal EC thermal monitoring section and disable it
