    Success! Alienware 18 + GTX 1060

    @ColaMonster i need to run in optimus mode to run the 1060, which will cause intel to run the display itself which is capped at 110 hz. yes im using minidisplayport as im on a m18x r2
    Also its not that it doesnt perform, its just so slightly more powerful then my 7970s that i would rather not bother with the modifying lower fps and driver issues.

    Your system seems to running fine. Yes even I didn't realize how close 680m SLI/7970m CF was to 1060, I should have went 980M SLI instead.

    You are stuck with 110hz because the Intel HD 4000 graphics run a displayport 1.1 not 1.2. There's nothing you can do to fix that. 980M SLI is the fastest set-up that fully supports all of the M18xR2's features (GPU switching (PEG MODE), mDP 1.2, etc.)

    I haven't tested it, but is Intel HD 4600 under the same limitations?

    If I remember correctly, HD 4600 supports DP 1.2 so it should work fine over 110hz.
