Hey all. Is the 18 VR compatible? Specifically Oculus Rift compatible? I'm not talking performance, I figure with the updated lowered minimum requirements, the 980m SLI should be fine. I'm more wondering about if the 18 has the right ports and things like that. If anyone knows or has tried, please let me know your opinions. Thanks.

Thanks for the reply. I ended up finding a few other discussions about it and ended up feeling confident it would be able to work. What are your thoughts on the Oculus as far as fidelity is concerned? Is the screen door effect a big deal? Thinking about getting one, though I am on Windows 8.1 and would rather continue using my Xbox 360 controller instead of the bundled Xbox one controller. I was hoping there would be some black Friday deals but there really aren't any discounts. I'm on the fence, what are your feelings since you have both? Also, looks like we have similar specs, how is the performance with just a 980m since we can't really use SLI?

What about M18xR1? What's the version of it's HDMI port?

I got the Rift and it does work with the 18. Only requires 2 USB ports and the HDMI. I am not overly impressed with it as it looks like an old SD TV. I haven't messed with it too much though as I have been out of commission with back spasms for a few days. I will give it another chance and fool with some settings but as of now, if there is no improvement, I will be returning it and waiting for the next version. By then I will have a different, more capable PC.

As for comment below about graphics being like an old school monitor??? no i disagree, you have to remember your eyes are a lot closer to the screens, there for you will notice the pixels if you look for them. but once immersed in the game i do not notice
