The board is closing at the end of the month, so I am making my goodbyes to the Alienware community. I have been part of the Alienware crew since 2011, starting off with modding the M17x R3 by undervolting the 6970M and 6990M. Moved on from there to the M17x R4, M18x R1, M18x R2, M17x R2, and ultimately what got me out of Alienware and high performance laptops in general, the Alienware 18. I am proud to have contributed to this board with the modified M18x R2 BIOS, undervolted 6990M vBIOS, undervolted 8970M vBIOS, and undervolted 980M vBIOS. It has been great fun hearing from you all with all the troubleshooting, tweaking, and modifying that has been done across the years and systems.

I recommend anybody with legacy Alienware systems to download/save whatever resources you need from here before it goes offline permanently. I know M15x, M17x, and M18x boards are not so active these days, but if you intend to preserve these machines as I have, you may need the wisdom one day!

Special thanks to @Mr. Fox for leading the way here for a long time until Alienware also drove him away from the scene, @Prema for his invaluable help in wrangling the Maxwell GPUs, @svl7 for being an inspiration for my modding Alienware and Razer BIOS, @ssj92 for keeping the flame going, @Baddemichl for his dedication to maxing out the M18x R2, and countless others who have been a part of this great community. I will miss you all greatly!

Thanks for all your help and input over the years! Still can't believe that this is actually going to happen.

I definitely need to save that special unlocked BIOS for the R2

RIP. Bought my first Alienware from here. Had 260M SLI. Bought multiple Alienwares after (signature scores). Last mobile one I had was the Alienware 18. On the desktop side, had an Area-51. It has been fun.

I'm going to miss this place. For anyone who continues working on these older Alienwares. we have a whatsapp group chat.

@Maxware79 suggested those of y'all to also join the alienowners forum.

I followed this forum a lot since 2008, after buying Clevo M57ru, a big machine still working.
Then I switched to Alienware M18x R1. And on this forum I purchased Alienware M18x R2 (The Best), today there is no laptop that deserves to be purchased.
    Really a bad news. sadness.
