    Hey all, just installed my new 2920es cpu ... that is working fine it appears. However my computer is not detected my discrete graphics adapters .... Any ideas ?

    I did NOT uninstall them to repaste (my temps are not an issue) ... wondering what gives here ...

    have switched back to discrete .. they are being detected in the Bios at boot up ....

    is it possible I need to reload video drvers after switching CPU ????

    Not needed since they are the same class of GPU HD 3000 on all the sandy bridge Mobile chips.

    i would think you ae right, I was actually talking about the ATI drivers

    Same goes for the ATI drivers, you shouldn't need to reinstall them again just like how we don't have to even if we re-pasted.

    yea i figured thats the case as well ... don't understand this error, reinstalling the drivers anyway as we speak. Guessing this isn't going to fix it though....

    oooooh gods no .... ok this just got worse.

    Ok, I reinstalled 11.8 drivers (they worked and I had them on my desktop)
    (This is after rebooting to safemode and using Driver sweeper to clear out and AMD stuff) ...

    Computer reboots, appears to be working, my desktop starts booting, screen freezes then goes black. .... Alien Lights are stil on ... but computer seems dead otherwise.

    Thats an ES 2920XM yes? A problematic CPU can throw all kinds of issues you least expect. So keep close watch for all the issues.

    The seller might be a good seller but they have no way of really knowing if this particular ES chip is completely fault free.

    This chip has been completely tested and pushed and is fine, I know the seller. Just frickin wierd ...
