    I see that driver under my service tag but I don't have any unknown devices in the device manager so I don't think I'm missing anything.......

    what is that driver? what does it do? do I need it?

    Probably the Silicon Image wireless HD transmitter that was offered on the M17x R3/R4 and M18x R1/R2. That was the serial device on my DMC port when I had my M17x R3

    Right, so I guess I don't need it since I don't have any unknown device in Device Manager, strange why Dell includes this driver under my service tag.
