    Now that the Alienware 18 line is finished..what brand/laptop are you guys gravitating towards for your next gaming laptop purchase? This is assuming a GTX 1080 laptop.

    Desktops. Laptops aren't worth fooling around with anymore considering they changed something critical every year making upgrades impossible

    Clevo P870TM1 or P775TM1 (everything "up-gradable") [up to 1080 SLI]

    MSI GT75VR [only GPU IS MXM (but I think they change design every year)] {up to 1080}

    Alienware 17 R5 (cannot upgrade CPU or GPU but does offer Alienware Graphics Amplifier for external desktop GPU if needed) {Up to 1080}

    Personally, I'm holding onto my M18xR2 as long as possible, but will consider the next clevo with 9700k & 1180 SLI

    Nice! Thanks for all the options listed. Still love my Alienware 18, but just looking ahead to when that time comes that I do upgrade. One small feature I have liked on the Alienware 18's as the HDMI IN...used that to plug in my xbox one at times. I know laptops don't feature that type of port now, so what would be the alternative? Do they make an adapter to do that via and HDMI out?

    The closest you will get is a video capture card

    Yup I use HDMI IN as well a lot on my M18xR2. Surprised not a single laptop has come out with this feature.

    Would have been nice if Alienware at least kept this feature.

    Asus G703G also looks like a contender, but I would definitely wait for them to put an 1180 in there in place of the 1080:

    Looks like a BGA laptop... so no upgrading.
