I ordered two Samsung HN-M201RAD. They are Samsung 2TB 5400 RPM 2.5" HDDs

What I plan to do is install the OS on my 840 EVO mSATA 1TB SSD and put those two HDDs in RAID 0 for a large 4TB partition.

My main concern is, will they fit and work?

I see HIDEvolution and XOTIC PC offer these as an option when choosing the HDD for laptops but just want to confirm with j00 guys

Yeah they'll work. I had a couple in my R2 in raid 0 with mSATA doing cache acceleration.. Glorious

Yes it is. I had those 2tb in raid 0 + ssd cache as a data/gaming non OS drive.
I had it in a R2 so it had a extra Bay in the caddy I could use for a stand alone OS ssd.

You can just rip out the ODD in the 18 and use that if need be.

Yeah, works great for me also. I still have these 2x2TB HDD running in RAID0 on my M18xR2, minus the mSATA cache. I am using PrimoCache for acceleration (works better IMHO) and the mSATA is used for Windows 8. I stole one of the Corsair Neutron SSDs that I had in RAID0 and moved that SSD to my Clevo P570WM for Windows 8 (have a 1TB SSD for Windows 7 on the Clevo) so I put the BluRay burner back in the M18xR3 chassis and have the two 2TB HDD installed in the normal 3-drive caddy next to single Neutron SSD running Windows 7.

I also have one of these 2TB HDD in my P570WM. Here is how PrimoCache works for speeding up those lazy 5400 RMP HDDs. This uses memory speed for caching (like Samsung RAPID) instead of an mSATA SSD. RAM is much faster, as you can see from the screen shot below.

I used to have 3 of them when I had a m18x r2, 2 in raid 0 and 1 extra for storage. I had the OS on a msata SSD. I moved the raid 0 over to a clevo.
