    just thought of this because i don't have anything else with an HDMI-in...no cable either..has anyone tried this?

    The HDMI-in also works as out, if we are talking about the Alienware 18 R1, but the 8 beeps indicates an issue with the system's LCD itself.

    i actually ended up getting the cracked BIOS to work finally so the 8 beep problem will no longer be an issue
