Hi![]()
I have recently done an upgrade to 780m sli for my m18x R1.
I did a couple of tests and I noticed that 3dmark 11score not change when i overclock both gpu's (11600).
unfortunately I have a 2760qm as cpu.
It may really CPU limited?
thanks for the support![]()

Yes.. Get a 2920XM/2960XM if you can.. Look around, they can be had for cheap!
-
Cheap? I'll search it better couse i don't find it less to 350$ (€ in my case)

you have to keep looking. i happened to find one for 160, and when I used my ebay coupon, I got it for 110$. It runs 4.3ghz 4 cores with no extra flex. That is one hell of a chip!
-
But 2920 or 2960? 160 for 2960 would be wonderful! You mean 2920, right?
-
2920XM. there is no perceivable difference between 2920XM and 2960XM. Like I said, my 2920XM was a Dell system pull and it runs 4.3GHz no extra flex/voltage added.
-
Oh... I find only up 270. Too much, right?

I would wait for better deals. You still shouldn't be CPU limited a 2720QM.
-
Ok but why i'm very limited in game? in 3dmark 11 score not change when i overclock both gpu's.
11600 points are too poor score. i know that 14/15 k is a right score. -
What? With my 3920XM at 4.2ghz 4 core and slight overclocks on the 780M I get like 13600 COMBINED. Look at the graphics score for now. Your CPU will limit you in benchmarks, but it is highly unlikely to be the case in games.
-
You say that? Ok. So, for example, on fallout4 i have "only" 45 to 70 fps in game (all set to max).
Ok, driver are very old (eurocom vga's) but why so poor performance?
If i'll OC cards , do you think that Graphics score should to change? maybe i must to change 3dmark11 graphics setting and raise settings for delete cpu limited and confirm OC inprovement?
My temps are pretty good (70°C cpu and 65°C gpu @Full load) and, as i can see on logitech lcd, all chipset works fine at full speed and load (70% for gpu but i think it's normal)
I expect much more with this 2 beast. Where is the problem??
thanks for patience.

1. Old Drivers.
2. System not fully optimized for best performance? (Other programs running in BG?)
3. Expectations too high. -
You definitely need the minimum nvidia modded driver 359.06, updated intel chipset drivers, and close out of all unnecessary applications.
-
Agree with point 1, system is fully optimized but not in Nviidia CP (i hate full performance option couse bypass ingame settings) but i'm not agree on 3: 2x780m powerful not is 60fps ~ in fallout 4.
Maybe i'm cpu limted, maybe i have old drivers as you said, maybe some PC's Saint is against me (
) but i expect at least 120fps
@Max settings.
Wow, what are you talking about???
I can update my old drivers??? Tell me yes, please
-
Not going to happen.
Fallout 4 is frame rate capped by default on the PC version to 60 FPS for 60hz displays.

Thanks! i hope this include eurocom models too!
Ah, ok.
So, FO4 not is better game for test my vga's
@ALL
But in your opinions, with my currunt cpu is a good idea OC vga's?
As i understood, in game context OC should have impact. -
Depends how the game is coded. ARK Survival Evolved runs like crap no matter what GPU you use.
m18x r1 780m SLI cpu limited?
