Hello guys i need your help again, this is my second post, my problem is the folowing,
i have upgraded my gpu fromn 6970m to gtx 680m which i installed with the latest nvidia driver with modified .inf all went well, tested a few games did a bit of overclocking +120mhz clock and 550mhz memory to the card temperatures were ok max68 70 degrees, but then i decides like an idiot to change the refresh rate of the display from 60hz to 85 hz was ok at first then i upped it to 90 and was not ok i went down a bit and stayed at 85 hz, after a while windows aero stopped working and display collors were like 16bit, so i tried to reset the hz to 60hz and still the same, i then decided to uninstall the driver and do a system restore, but upon restart it gave an error that restore was completed with an error, but aero worked again, i have installed the 680m drivers again, surfed the web a bit and then went to work, i then shut down the laptop remotely from my phone but before that it says that the driver crashed but succesfully recoverd, next day when i started the laptop, all i get is 8 beeps with the usual lights and fans running, i have tried everything i could to get it to start, i took the 680m out and still the same, i took ram out and it gave 4 beeps, i took the cpu out and no beeps but nothing hapened just light and fans running,i have flashed the bios using the blind method still nothing, i have conected to an external monitor with hdmi with the 680m i get the intel storage info and then the beeps, with igfx i get nothing but the display dims a bit and then 8 beeps, d+power does nothing, fn+power does nothing, i have also checked the display cable both sides they look ok. is is the display or the gpu? i hope is the display as if it was the gpu it would have started with the igfx no? i am running win7, thank you and any help would be apreciated

thank you for your reply mr.fox, i had used for oc the card both msi afterburner mainly but also evga precision as well, as for the lcd refresh rate i have used nvidia control panel, i will go to a repair shop on monday to check the system with another display and see if it will work, and if they can fix my lcd screen, now if it will work, which drivers should i use and oc tool to be safe?, what do you think should i take the gpu out and try to reflash the bios without it, as someone sugested on other thread and see if it will work or leave it as is?

If your LCD has been corrupted, that is all you need to fix. And, you need to uninstall EVGA Precision X to stop from happening again. Boot into Safe Mode and manually delete the installation folder before loading Windows normally. You can manually delete the registry entries for Precision X, or use CCleaner registry tool to scan and delete the obsolete entries after manually deleting the folder.

I don't like MSI Afterburner. It's totally worthless to me because it does not allow voltage control. Use NVIDIA Inspector with your Alienware. No need to reflash BIOS or vBIOS. Doing so won't help.
