Hello, I was wondering if anyone could provide any sort of help.
I upgraded my m18x r1 from 6970m CF, to a single 7970m. Thats where my problems began.
The graphics card 7970m is brand new, so it should be working.

However, everything is fine until I try installing a graphics driver for my 7970m, the bios recognizes it, GPU-z and Hwinfo correctly report the details of the card.
I am using windows 10, and I have done 5 fresh installs so far.
I have used the latest AMD drivers, the 7970m drivers for the m18x r2, and different versions of Catalyst Control Centre that other people in this forum have had success with. But every time the driver installs, the screen goes black, and I am forced to reinstall windows 10. The laptop enters a diagnosing problems loop, and safe mode doesn't work, and it always loads windows into a black screen.
If anyone could please provide some advice.
    My gpu vbios is 015.021.000.000.0000
My bios is A05 (not the unlocked version)
Ati card is in the primary slot
    CPU is 2960xm

    Hi!
Win10 is bastard! Assuming your gpu is fine..
-the 015.022 bios has UEFI enabled but I dont know if it helps.
-Get rid of old driver by DisplayDriverUninstaller(DDU) in safe mode.
-Are you disabling driver signature mode before installing driver?
-What setting is in use for GPU? iGFX+Dgpu or only one at time or Enduro/Optimus mode?
-Instead of another Win10 fresh install, try another Win version (7 or 8.1) maybe in dual boot to exclude OS/driver conflict.
When I recently was on 7970m only 2 drivers run well (post here after edit)

Thanks for the response, I just installed windows 7 ultimate sp1. I dont need uefi, I always use legacy.
Currently I am trying to install the latest AMD/crimson driver, taking a long time.
I am in iGFX mode, where the only gpu is the dedicated one, nothing detects the integrated one.
DSEO is not active. I assumed I did not need to do this as all the drivers I have tried are signed.
Thanks so much for your help.

The latest crimson drivers did not work in windows 7 sp1, on device manager it recognized the 7970m as working, but on restart, the same problem. A black screen with no hdd activity.
Going to try catalyst 12.7 beta, Mr. Fox had it working with that driver.

Okay, it might be the gpu, with 12.7 there are artifacts all over the screen, and gpu continually crashes.
