I was using for years 353.00 PEG drivers on windows 8.1
now i updated to w10 and those don't work anymore (because they didn't have w10 support in them im guessing)...is there a w10 version of them? I just wan't something that doesn't throttle....i tried regular 497.29 drivers from Nvidia's site they throttle badly.....the only drivers that didn't throttle for me on w8.1 were the Mr. Fox drivers i think....can someone advise?
running m18xr2, w10x64, 980m

I am not sure what solution to offer. I am sorry to hear this is happening.
Remember, I had issues with 780M having goofy throttling problems as well... entirely GeFarts driver related. I upgraded to 980M and that was fraught with an entirely new set of functionality problems as well, so I gave up on moved on to greener pastures. It was like Alienware and NVIDIA teamed up and conspired on a way to ruin 780M performance so people would give up the M18xR1/R2 and waste money on a newer piece of garbage. There was a clear line of demarcation on driver version where the throttling problems originated. Older was flawless, but from that point forward it was utterly worthless.Papusan likes this. -
Try this:
Plug in ac adapter
turn on laptop and boot into bios, select igpu and exit
let windows load, do a shut down
turn laptop on, boot to bios and choose peg this time
should not throttle as long as ac adapter isn't removed, then it'll throttle again. If you only have one 980m you can use SG mode instead of peg and try.Spartan@HIDevolution, Mr. Fox and Papusan like this. -
What bios and vbios are you using? Since going over to swicks bios and either svl7 or premas 980m vbios I haven't had issues with a single 980m throttling. (only in SLI)
The biggest problem I have is W10 constantly reinstalling the old 388.12 driversSpartan@HIDevolution likes this. -
