So for the past several months I have been getting this blue screen randomly..though pretty much daily. I have used WhoCrashed to see if I could identify the culprit through dump files, but it didn't give me any more data than that error unfortunately.

That being said, all my temps are fine (gpu and cpu). I read through countless forums (especially on here) and it seems it might be an issue of not enough voltage set for the cpu. My question is, where could I adjust this setting and is there a certain voltage it should be set to? I have not done any overlocking since I purchased this laptop over a year ago. Thanks for any help! (Alienware 18 specs in sig)

I'm turning off the overclocking feature in BIOS and see if that does anything for now. Any other recommendations, please let me know! Thanks!

Update: My laptop has been running flawless since I disabled the overclocking in BIOS..crazy that is all it took. Does this mean that my processor speed is going to be capped now at a certain speed? I'm guessing the Intel turbo clock will now be turned off.

This is Alienware overclocking feature, it has nothing to do with turbo boost. Your turbo boost will work just fine.

Take a look into the Aw18 OC thread. Never use Dellienware's crippled OC profiles!! Use TS or XTU. But never both same time.

Will these settings that Fox has work the same for a 4940MX?

Also, Update #2: I have not had 1 BSOD since I turned the overclocking off in BIOS 5 days ago. Looks like this was the solution. Thanks all for your help.

Voltage can be different. Not all chips are made equal. Some need more and some need less voltage for set clock speed. And the newer 4940 has been showing as a worse overclocker than its predecessor. Read you up in the thread before you start. And don't start with too high clocks. Good luck.

Well on my desktop I played around with dual booting both Win 10 and Win 7 and when I would want to play around with 10 I had to go into BIOS and reduce the OC from 4.5 to 4.4 GHz (same voltage) otherwise I would get a "WHEA uncorrectable error" BSOD when 10 was loading. In all, it was one of the reasons, among many, that I fell back to 7. Not only did it happen when loading 10 but 4.5 GHz wasn't stable once in games etc. I don't understand the allure of 10, to me it's a straight up downgrade to 7. And where is DX12, the only reason to run 10 lol? I'm SO glad I didn't fall for their "upgrade" BS back when, as with time you lose your ability to fall back on 7. I'm glad I held out, I was still able to see what the fuss with 10 is about by dual booting.

But yeah, forget 10 lol, spyware garbage if you ask me.
