had to swap out the 2230 in my gf's alienware the screw is completely ground out....i have no idea how to get it out...needlenose pliers can't grip it enough and its too tight to get in with anything else..do either of the other 2 slots support a wifi card if i re-ran the wires and just disabled the 2230?

You can try and use some electrical tape and mash it in the hole with the screwdriver in an attempt to get more grip, or you can solder wire to the stripped part and try to turn it with that.

You could try this:

How desperate are you?
1.Take the motherboard out so you have better access to grip the screw.
2. Use a small ez out (requires drilling a hole though the screw just don't drill thought the mobo)
3. Use a small dremil to cut a groove for a flat head screw driver.
4. Cut the card up with tin-snips... probably not an option but you never know. -
i actually used a different flathead to grind it into the screw and it came out
