My system : M15x on windows seven ultimate x64


NEW : "alienware name" turn on with Auroralightfx, and command center crash when i click on "alien fusion"

 

Love this program you made, I have an issue with your program it will not start-up at start-up, I went into msconfig.exe their is no alienFXcontroller (or anything alienware btw.

Also to mention this is a fresh install of Win 7 RC

 

Findvikas any chance you can make an M17x compatible version or mod this one to be compatible with the M17x?

No you can but it doesn't work now because there are different controllers

i have a problem with AuroraLightsFX and the german version of Windows 7 Pro.
I've used the app with no problems with englisch version of Windows 7 (MSDNAA).
No with the german version (also MSDNAA) the app installs without any error but crashes when i am starting it.
The windows error log contains the following:

I just installed the AuroralightsFX but it's not working.
Every time I want to change the lights it says:

"Unable to set colors, it could be due to a hardware problem.
Make sure your AlienFXBoard is working properly"

Everything on my board is working fine as on my whole pc.
Any thoughts here?

This program was written for the Area-51 m17x, not the All Powerful M17x.

@findvikas: Hey man, please update TurnOffLights, we got a Non responding error after running it on Windows 7 RTM 64 bits. We're in dire need because we are not able to use AlienFX for now.

p/s: Only keyboard lights are off and the error comes

 

Are you using the "turnofflights" function on the AuroralightsFX application or the standalone version?

The go dark function on the AuroralightsFX works no problem at all for me. And I'm able to get the lights back up too. It only goes dead sometimes after waking from sleep or hibernation. I just restart the AuroraLightsFX program and it works again.

 

Thanks for that, after every hibernation it would stop working. Didn't think about restarting the service . Also I PM'd findvkias because I would love a keybind for turning lights on and off. Like in the new AW panel. FN + F11 toggle, on and off.

Hi, your application has messed up my M17x laptop keyboard lights and no amount of uninstalling/reinstalling either the command centre software or your software, or restarting, will fix things.



One of your previous posts mentioned that you thought the issue might be related to using the "desktop" settings. Doing so produces a similar result to that pictured above, though in that case, the lights are skewed left instead of right.

The issue pictured above occurred when I tried the desktop wallpaper option and deselecting that option did not revert the keyboard back to a fully lit mode.

Please help me, I have listed this laptop on ebay and I can't sell it while the keyboard is in this state.

Hey Vikas, thanks for taking the pain to develop this handy tool (i am sure this is fun for u) - now i have complete control over the light colors in my new m15x! Though i had the pain of taking my laptop to my friend's room and share his internet to run the online install ...

Couple of requests for AuroraLightsFX:
(running latest version, on M15x x64Win7)
1) When its running : Allow menu item to open up original startup interface, so I can choose new colour set without exiting and starting again.
2) ? Bug? If I do options.. Select Custom Colour, and then cancel, I go dark.
3) Any way of saving a preset set of colours so that After I "Go Dark" I don't have to start up and re do all the colours again (my scheme is mouse pad dark blue, keyboard lighter blue, touch keys even lighter blue, like a colour gradient), alienware logo & lightpipe same colour, Power button different, etc etc. --? is this as simple as exporting registry options and importing them before running aurora?

Not sure how recent this is source code release is, but you can download the source code from codeplex here:-

once downloaded, unzip the archive, and take a look in here:
AuroraLightsFX\bin\x86\Debug\

It contains AuroraLightsFX.exe. Confirmed its working on My M15x

Also, In theory, I could (or someone more qualified) could recompile as x64 binary as well, to get rid of that nasty * on the task manager....

 

If you could recompile a 64-bit version and make it available I would greatly appreciate it.

 

Hello, I'm new here, But I will be here and help out as much as I can. But I need some big help now, My m15x was working great with all the lights and everything, but I did a firmware update and now I have no lights anywhere?
Any luck for Aurora Lights on Windows 7 64x ?

 

When I did the firmware update, this was for the command center. It must have been the wrong command center, it showed up on my screen with the AlienFX asking if I wanted a Basic or advanced theme, and I click Basic and it shows a photo of a Desktop PC, not my m15x....What should I do??

Hello findvikas, My name is Thomas and I have the same notebook that you have, I have a problem let me explain it to you, I gave format to my computer, I installed windows 7 x64, everything works properly but alien fx doesn´t work, I don´t know what i have to do, I already install all I found in the web, could you give me some advice?, I don´t have any restore disk, my notebook´s respawn partition is ok, I didn´t touch it, I don´t either know how to run or how to restore my computer to its factory condition, I´m sorry for my English, I wish you understand what I said.
