Hi im planning on buying the i5 M11x r3 soon and one thing I would like to be able to do is emulate wii games, I want to use it mainly just for regular PC games but wii emulation would be a huge bonus.

So my request is if somebody could post footage of this model emulating a wii game please? preferably super smash bros brawl but any other 3d game would be ok too. Also if the games runs a bit slow please report if it runs at a playable speed with a lower resolution or frame skip enabled.

    Thanks! :)

one of the editions should run it fine, my desktop(refer to sig) would run it fine at 1280x1024 with all max with no issues and decent frame rates. would try it out but don't got a wiimote anymore.

Cool thanks! would still be great to see some sort of video of brawl running, Its the only wii game I own that wouldn't need a wiimote to play on the m11x, I could play it with the keyboard or xbox controller just fine (brawl has a lot of controller options).

Im surprised there not more videos showing off the m11x's emulation capabilities, im pretty sure it could emulate everything up to the dreamcast perfectly but I was expecting it to struggle with wii games, and im pretty sure PS2 games are out of the question.

ps2 games will run fine... they r somewhat same demanding as wii... just dont get the I3 as it might struggle with emulating.

I have the R2, but the Wii games are not playable, only games with 2D sprites (like Muramasa, runs 60fps) but normal games like Zelda, NSMBWii, Metroid Prime 3, etc. They don´t, you get 10-15fps and they look like slow motion...

And that is at 720x480, I dunno how much you can get with the R3, but I hope my experience with the R2 helps...

Well I have an i7 R2 that I overclock and throttlestop and it can play ps2 games like FF X and XII pretty well with barely any slowdowns. So I'm sure the R3 can emulate the Wii around the same performance. Also realize that emulating is far from perfect, so you can't expect everything to run 100% even on the strongest rigs.

Thanks guys that sorta gives me an idea about how well the games will run. If the m11x cant emulate my wii games its not the end of the world but it would be a cool extra. I know emulators are very CPU dependant and smash bros brawl runs full speed on my old 3.06ghz core2duo 2009 iMac in full 1080p with certain lighting effects turned off (turning of the lighting effects gives a HUGE fps boost but can cause a bloom effects for some games).

Actually, I have a m11x r2 i7 and I can play brawl, nsmb wii, and mario kart wii at a very good speed. I have not tried the cpu heavy wii games like zelda or mario galaxy, but just like you i just want to play brawl lol. I followed some tips i read over the dolphin forums , one of which includes using the pal version over the NTSC. Reason being that PAL run at a lower frame rate for full speed (50 instead of 60). my pal Brawl game runs all multiplayer games smoothly , the ONLY stage i cant get full frame speed is on Delfino Plaza. NSBM wii runs great, just a tad bit of slowdown when there are lots of characters on screen (like one underwater stage that has ton of fishes pass by fps dips a ton). Mario kart wii for me runs between 40-50 fps (PAL version as well) but completely playable, passed all the race tracks. Anyways i dunno if the difference is big on the i5 r3 compared to the i7 r2. But if it helps you, I can work on some videos for you after i get out of work. (would have to be a camera pointed physically at the m11x so fps doesnt dip). If not just take my word for it i guess lol. I can say the settings that worked for me, and I am using the dolphin v3.0. even have enhancements of 2x internal resolution, 2x AA, and 2x anistropic filtering. Looks better than the wii itself :D. and ya theres a lack of m11x dolphin videos....i had to try my own self lol.

    I gots the m11x r3 (new i7... 1.7ghz - 2.8)
runs both pcsx2 and dolphin great~

pcsx2 (internal res set to native, some settings set to low, ee speed hack set to 2)
makai kindom - works 100% (can go past 120fps)
artonelico 2 - works 100% (can go past 120 fps)
    ff12 - works fine 95-100% (up to 110 fps)
personal 4 - works fine 97-100% (up to ~114%) (performance dips to 20 fps when bird with alpha fog affect appears [pcsx2 flaw, not pc]. either kill birds fast or set frame skip to 4 or 6))

dolphin(set to 720p, 2x anti , fog turned off, to texture, euro60 mode)
    ssbm works 100% speed
ssbb works 100% speed (some speed dips and glitches in non important areas)
mario kart dd works at 100% (sound glitches sadly [dolphin fault] ;- ;)
zelda windwaker works at 94%-100% (slows when on ocean, zoomed out looking at large amount of objects)

mario kart wii works at 80%-100% speed (playable. notes: set frame skip to 1 or 2. accurate vbeam hack ups performance to 95-100% @ 60fps, but messes up some sound timings. playing pal 50 mode @ rainbow road = eye bleed)

super mario galaxy works at 73-100% speed (somewhat playable. set frame skip 1, 2 or 3. accurate vbeam hack speeds up by 6-15%. had awkward moment by playing with ps2 controller...)

    results my vary.

I plan on making a video with a brother later~
