nVidia has released the Forceware 261.00 driver. This driver is a special release intended primarily for developers, providing support for the CUDA Toolkit 3.2 RC2, so it's best used for experimental purposes.
People messing with PB problems on m11x r2 and general bugs on games, it should be worth a shot to see what this driver can do.

I have no interest in this set personally. Quite happy with 260.99 atm while waiting for the next official 265 series from Nvidia. However since there's request here for this to be modded I'll just try to mod one but I wont be testing it. So I wont be sure how well it will install/work. I have already modded a set and in the progress of uploading now. Manage to get the installer to detect our hardware. But I am not proceeding any further to really install them so I wont know if there will be error in the middle of installation either. Feeling unwell so am too sick to test too much stuffs at the moment. Will update the post as soon as upload is done with the download link.

There you go. As usual it does not come with any warranty or any sort neither from me, aw/dell, nvidia or even your mom. So use them at your own risk. -
Interesting.. is there yet any record on what should be new in these dev drivers? except for maybe punkbuster support for optimus?
-
I went ahead and guinea pigged these.
Installed fine, seem to run fine, no issues.
Only tried BFBC2
These drivers are not PB friendly
Interesting thing with this driver and 260.99 on my machine. On both 3DMark06 crashes on the first test. But games seem to run fine
(Besides PB of course)
November and 265 are just around the corner. -
thanks for doing the test to show the drivers install without issue. i reckon these wont fix PB issue from the beginning. since Nvidia said it to be in the 265 series. I suppose it should start with 265.00 at least. This release should still classify under the 260 series if i am not mistaken. Anyway the date of these drivers are only 2 days after 260.99. Thats why I am not much interested in using them and better off with the WHQL which is Optimus ready -
It also plays Force Unleashed II, Darksiders, Front Line Mission Evolved, and Fall Out Vegas (at least it loads up fine)
Since I can play BFBC2 and these play more of my games than not with great FPS, I'll prolly stick with these until 265
Though I have to say, it kinda bums me a little bit that I have to turn everything all the way down in BFBC2 to get good FPS in MP even with a 162 FSB, Throttle Stop and a 533/1233/875 GPU O'C.
Is that normal? I was hoping to at least get Medium details, but it is what it is.
Sticking with 189.79 and keeping 260.99 whql on my HD just in case -
that sounds quite abnormal. i remember when i was still with that driver. i could play with a combination of high med settings with low on shadow. vsync off and hsao off. not really impressive fps but can still to keep it from dipping below 30fps in most scenario. i dont have anything OC'ed. both cpu and gpu are stock. and not to mention we dont have TS during that time. Its only till lately I started to OC the system due to stupid FFXIV that really torture this little beast even at the lowest settings.
on a side note you got a beasty GPU thou. I dont think I can ever clock my shader that high in actual games other than 3Dmark. they will crash most of time. my current stable clock I use in FFXIV is 520/1140/900 -
I'm using the dev 261.00 without any problems (starcraft 2) at least modded for the hybrid system on the vaio Z. so far 261.00 is awesome!

Mediafire link please !!

I was running similar settings and normally it was decent, but then when I got into a tank as a secondary gunner and things got heated, the FPS dropped to chop. Good times. -
When you place c4 and suddenly detonate yourself........
notice the massive FPS drop! LOL~~
It happened to me few times in multiplayer already due to nervousness :x -
