Im in it.
This little rig has been quite the workhorse for me over the past 2+ months. Been a joy to use as a primary rig at work and home. The only time Im on my SXPS is to encode movies and reset my VM's. Other then that Im on the m11x 90% or more of my computing and couldn't be happier. After I adjusted to the much lower resolution I rediscovered the awesomeness that is ultra portables.
Anyone else as happy as I am with their m11x?
-
Pretty damn satisfied.
It also looks sleek and flashy with all it's lights lol. -
I love this laptop. Its replaced my ps3 for gaming and i get to play it everywhere especially during class.
But...i'm also really greedy, i want an 17x R2 (or r3) to sit alongside the 11x. cuz they seem like they belong together lol. -
Count me in the club. No more having to drag around a giant 17" overheating energy monster of a Toshiba notebook to college classes anymore. Plus, I can run Borderlands, Mass Effect 2, L4D2, and Guild Wars without lag and bad framerates. That makes me a VERY happy camper.
-
no problems for me with this machine! i'm totally satisfied!
-
At first I was about 50%
but now its grown the full 100% -
As soon as my display on my R1 is replaced with the new hinge design and the keyboard no longer leaves marks on it when closed, I'll probably join, but this only counts for the product, their support leaves MUCH to be desired...

<< This is me...
-
Totally me. It's done what it promised.
-
Hello people, I do love this thing, 4 months here, without any problem...

Have had mine since launch, got the hinge replaced once. I can't really complain though because I called and they were there the next day to replace it. I use my m11x a lot and it's nice to have a portable machine that can play some games. Just beat Condemned on it and am starting through Burnout: Paradise.
-
By far the best lappy I have ever owned - Chuffed
-
Best laptop i've ever owned. Can be used as a on the go pc if i need one for class or work, and it can play games at home if i want it to.
-
I'm pretty satisfied with this laptop (no major issues) so count me in!
-
Hopefully I'll be in this club soon when mine arrives.
-
I would have liked a stronger cpu, but with what it actually comes with im very happy. Build quality is nice and support is terrific.
-
Despite the fact I had a hinge issue almost instantly on my R1, I liked enough to get an R2 and use both every day. I can't wait to see what they do with the R3...
-
I love it, and the PS3 is sure taking a long break since I got mine! Need steam friends though
-
yep absolutely loving mine, and it's quite a joy when you stumble across undocumented features, such as keeping your nuts warm! This really should be advertised more widely

Dell is off to a flying start for me. My R1 order processed and shipped in less than 24 hours, and according to the tracking data will be here a full day earlier than the company said. Hope this bodes well when the machine ultimately arrives.

I have had an i5 R2 since July and I love it. I never thought a mini-laptop could make me barely use my desktop, but it happened

This is the single best purchase I have ever made. I almost couldn't live without it anymore. I do all my work on it, and can play games on the go. I am in Asia as of now, and I can game in my downtimes.
Many times when I use it in public I see people staring at it, thinking it looks cool. A handful of people I know who have seen it are jealous and would want to buy one.
The only thing I don't like is the slow CPU speed, but a laptop can never be meant as a desktop replacement anyway, it'll always be too poor of an experience. I'll build a killer desktop with a large screen for gaming, and keep my m11x for the times I want to play simpler games wherever I am.
It was expensive (especially since I had to buy it in Canada), but I am impressed by Alienware's design and built quality. I dropped it many times, and every single time it didn't even have a scratch. -
how long have most people here have had their M11x's for? generally....
-
I've personally had mine for about 2 months, but I bought it used from my cousin who had it for 4months or so before that. No problems yet and I absolutely love it. It chews up everything I throw at it.
-
Had mine since launch. I love it. No issues with it at all.
-
it seems that with the m11x that within 2 months the problems usually occur: if nothing appears after 2 months then it's all good....i guess.
-
+1
Had mine since last sept 2010.
Hinges starting to break, but still 100% satisfied
(and it will get repaired anyway...)
Other than that, this little thingy is perfect. -
Best PC I've ever owned. Perfect for college.
-
You're definition of "perfect" confuses meBut I understand your enthusiasm.
-
150% satisfied. I love this form factor.
I just hope some day some company can produce a current one of these types so I can buy it to replace my M11x! -
One of the best purchases I have made in the technology realm. Now that dell has agreed to deal with the hinge issue regardless of warranty status, I'm 100% happy with the device and the backing Dell has given to the devices only major flaw. This is one of those few 5 star devices that come around once in a blue moon that really sets itself apart from anything else out there in its niche.
-
100% satisfied here. The R2 is just a rock solid machine. It's no wonder Alienware has such high resale value (cuz of all the fanboiz lulz
)

100% happy here have had mine for a few months not a single problem and Im on this thing more then I care to admit..
-
wow just came back and saw 4 pages! Glad to see Im not the only one very satisfied with the m11x. My r1 is a blast to use and I actually prefer it to any of my other rigs. Cant wait to see what iterations of this platform will come out down the road. At this point ULV quad core is the only thing that will pull me away from this r1.

95% satisfied! =D
jjust wished they made the C2D like 2.8 or something like that ;p -
100% satisfied with the refurbed quality.
110% satisfied with the power this little laptop has after 2 months. -
-
Had this thing for almost a year, and I'm pretty satisfied with the performance of the machine. The battery life is damn near amazing with the graphics card off, I can run any game that I want to play at near max settings (I don't care for BF2) and the fact that the laptop is so light (considering the graphics card) and compact is a bonus. This is actually the first laptop that I actually enjoy using, so I've been a satisfied customer all along.
-
Honestly, I'm downright disappointed with it. Between the hinges, the lousy screen, the cpu, the inability to do a full system restore without doing a usb backup immediately after you buy it, and the customer service from India where apparently a Hidden Partition is something that can walk on top of your computer according to them, I am not very happy.
It's really been nothing but problems from the get-go. Maybe 40% satisfaction at best. -
I have to say I am quite happy. Not sure if 100% satisfied, more like 90%. The whole hinge issue lingering in the back of my mind all the time. I know there's a fix, but I think I got one of the better screens, and hate to get a new one that's crappy.
Also am not happy at all with the video driver level of support. I don't expect daily, weekly, monthly, heck even quarterly updates, but once every six months, hire an intern for crying out loud, and have them consolidate two driver sets and spend a few bucks with QC and away it goes.
I would be happier if they decided on a 12" or 13" screen even. 11.6" is decent, but a little on the small side for any extended use. But that's not really any defect, just a design decision.
I have to say though what I like most is the battery life. Throw a power sipping SSD in there and enjoy a good 8-9 hours battery life in the R1. -
I'm satisfied but this little rig still leaves a lot to be desired. I'll say I'm 75%-80% satisfied.

Yeah. And it fails me why they don't offer "integrated" as a BIOS option for GPU. They offer "switchable" and "dedicated" why not "integrated". That way you could use Intel and nVidia drivers and problem solved. Require a reset to switch, but I don't care.
