Hmm, I might work around the driver signature enforcement issue by putting W7 Home Premium back on my MSI system (I always have signed drivers on it) and moving my Ultimate license to the M11x. With Pro, Ultimate, or Enterprise you can disable signature enforcement without having to use a 3rd-party program to enable test mode.

Are you certain of that? How do you do that? If so, I'll just throw Pro on there and be done with it.

Try one of the steps I outlined here. It worked fine on my MSI system, but that's only with a single GPU. Not sure if the same is true for hybrid systems.

That would be AWESOME for when I boot into linux. Right now I have to get a script up and running to disable the nvida card. If I could just turn it off all together that would fix alot for me.

Even with creaky hinges and such, I'm fully satisfied.

i've had my M11x since 1/29/11, and it has been a joy. i am 98% happy with it, and it has indeed replaced my quad core desktop PC (which i sold).

    happy about:

    1) moving from 32-bit vista to 64-bit windows 7 (so much better)
    2) the backlit keyboard
    3) the ability to play basically any game out there (albeit sometimes at lower settings)
    4) the HDMI out to my 55" Sony
    5) the SD card reader and the firewire port
    6) the complete portability of it all

    things i dislike:
    1) screen is okay but not great, and the glossiness is distracting sometimes
    2) the pre-existing hinge problem (i'm not looking forward to having to replace it sometime later this year)
    3) the lack of optical drive (ripping my DVDs via external ASUS takes 3x longer than on my desktop)

i knew about all of those issues prior to buying, though. now, it's the waiting game in terms of durability and how long it lasts. 2 year warranty should hold me over until it's time to buy something new.

Two months and I couldnt be happier with my M11x R1. I'm so happy in fact that I havnt even taken the time to fix my gaming desktop which has been acting funny lately.
