Im seriously considering buying a version of the m11x. But i want to hear some reviews about the screen size. I know its supposed to be a mobile gaming center and all, but does anyone have problems with such a small screen, or is it nothing to worry about :) ? Any feedback is appreciated

Nothing to worry about believe me. I was previously on a 15.6 inch. The size is really different...but the sharpness is the same. I enjoy playing games on this computer and also hook it up to a TV when i feel like it.

I lol'd at the title :p... Now that I got that out of the way:

The size is perfect for a mobile gaming system. If the screen is close enough to your face, the size is fine. It's not oversized like I thought it would be, and you could easily carry it without feeling like it's really getting in the way.

You get used to it really quickly. I rarely pine for more real estate unless I'm doing quick edits on a lot of photos in Lightroom. For gaming and general use it's just right.

Not that I'd complain if they'd gone with a 12.1" panel and less bezel. No sir. I wouldn't.

If your playing the game its fine, but if you are a spectator then its crap...(lol)... If you are using the computer, you do not realize how small it is. But if your watching someone play then it looks ridiculously small. Just my observation. Just get the icc profile off the forum; I think its the r2 icc profile that I am using on a r1. Makes a huge difference.

Depends on how you use it.

I personally like the smaller footprint as well as the less consumption of the smaller screen when on the go. The plethora of ports to hook it up to an external makes it easy (R1 with the VGA as well as the others).

I rarely use the Standard screen to game, but when I have to... its not bad at all.

It's crap for playing starcraft 2.
Otherwise, it's more or less fine. It really is small if your used to like >22" monitors.

Trust me, there is no problem with the size of the screen.
    Its ultra-portability is impressive.

You literally have to micro in sc2. Not really suitable for bnet, but fun with an external monitor attched.

There is no significant problem with the size of the screen (though its bezel is unnecessarily wide), yet there is a major problem with the quality of the display.

It is very reflective - which is not so much of a problem by itself, but, together with the terrible view angles, awful contrast and disgusting colors - if you even remotely consider using the m11x with no external monitor available - it is going to be painful indeed.

A picture is worth a thousand words - here's one of the m11x display (I have an r1, AUO panel) out of the box, with no icc profile applied.

Applying the custom color profile improves the situation a lot - so that the display becomes rather usable, yet the dramatically low quality of the panel they decided to use with this laptop cannot be completely fixed by no means.

I liked the m11x but the screen was giving me migraines so I had to get something with larger screen. I liked the m11x a lot. Great little computer. So if your vision is good I would still recommend it to everyone.

Its not terrible, i do some gaming and note taking on the go with it. I personally cant stare into the screen for more than 1 hour or so before my eyes start to hurt because its so tiny.

Oh don't worry about the size. I can play in a 11 inch screen no problem. Also, it has an HDMI port, so you can always plug it in an monitor or on your tv.

    Btw, nice pic bro

I use my M11x without a external monitor for alot of the time and I have no issues with the quality of the screen at all, it certainly isn't painful.

I sold it because it was too small for doing documenting and stuff, even browsing was annoying becuz the fonts tends too get too small..but ofc that's my opinion. You may like it.

I just posted up on the hardware part of this forum, but I recently found that 42 is somewhat a sweet spot for me now... I am going to probably wall mount this in my office and just leave my guest room TV-less. Usually that room is full of my drunk friends who crash here after a party/G2G anyway.

The screen size is perfect, more if you sit close to it (like any other laptop size), for gaming, reading text, videos, etc.

Of course, I have a 20" monitor at home that I plug my m11x, but not because the m11x screen is that small, because is my setup, I use my m11x at work all days and is perfect, even my dad, he has a 15" screen laptop, and he sometimes borrow my m11x because for heavy excel work the m11x is faster than his laptop, and he has never complained about the screen size....
