Going to test out with Skyrim now![]()

Let us know if you get any gains
Might help out with Alan Wake? -
Ok before I play Skyrim I tried to play some BF3. Is anyone else not noticing a difference between Texture Settings? I use to play on Ultra, but now when i change it Low to Ultra there is no difference.
EDIT: Oh my,it seems that every game is like that now! Just tried Skyrim and set texture to high (Always played like that). And I noticed that the texture settings was at low when I played! -
Installed the new drivers, and I can confirm that it helped a bit on Alan Wake.
Now I'm getting 25FPS steady on night levels. It used to fluctuate a lot before.
Regarding BF3 I see no changes.
If I'm not mistaken you have to exit the game and run again everytime you change a graphic option. -
better than 285.62? '-' i hope correct bugs in old games like L4D...
-
on paper there are little gains unless you have 3D or SLI seems like - where looks like a lot of changes. Some specific gain in a few games like BF3 are claimed.

This might be a coincidence but I see big improvements with the fan management and the noise after installing the drivers. I mean I have no idea how 3rd company drivers could have any impact on that but it really behaves differently.
The fan never goes to 6600 rpm in games even though the nvidia card reaches the exact same temps as before (70+).
More surprisingly, it stays at 4200 RPM in games while I have never seen this speed ever before (and I was monitoring temps/fans since I got my m11x). Before I only had 0-3800-6600. Now it's 0-3800-4200.
Maybe Dell pushed some automatic update I have no idea what happened there -
I'll try this out with LoL and see if I get blue screens
-
How much of an increase are you guys getting with Skyrim?
-
You know...I'm currently playing this with said drivers, OC at 565,1365,890, MX11 R1, CPU stock OC, Seagate Momentus XT 500gb, and with the Beth Hi Res Pack. I'm running almost 60fps indoors of High Rhothgar, and right outside with snow storm at about 40fps. In Whiterun, at the top of Dragon's Reach, I'm getting about 25-30fps. This is with no AA, 16xAni Filter, High Text, Med Radial Blur, Med Shadow, High Decal Qual, FXAA enabled, all water reflections, and High Object detail. I could list my Nvidia control panel settings, and the rest of the draw distance settings if it helps anyone.
I only played for about an hour...I experienced some minor graphic clipping/tearing, no artifacts or discoloration. Can't say about any CTD or crashes in general due to my playtime. I'll update if/when I get a chance to put some more playtime in. -
Thanks for the news dude!
-
I tried it with a lot of LoL sessions, I haven't BSOD'd which is great news. What's even better it runs 4 degrees cooler than usual n_n found my new driver
-
I upgraded yesterday....so far so good.

I am having problem running Dota 2 with this graphic driver.
Laptop gets really hot that the system starts to stutter because of the temperature.
I don't think I will be able to play Dota 2 without laptop cooler using this driver...
Anyone having this kind of issue? I don't get this problem when playing The Darkness 2 and Alan Wake.. -
-
Have been tried with these drivers : Skyrim , Fifa 11 , Gothic 2 , Diablo , Shift , Gird , Oblivion , Morrowind , Pes 2012 , Fallout 3 , Fallout Nev Vegas , Lionheart , Call of Duty 2 , DSJ 4 , Borderlands , Sacred 2 , Alpha Protocol , GT Legends , NHL 08 . VT 3 , The Witcher - no problem so far . Temps max - cpu 48 , GPU 57 with Zalman NC1000 . No OC . R1 .

I haven't noticed anything with the fans at all but I feel that Skyrim is slightly more fluid, only anecdotal evidence though and even then it could be a sort of 'placebo' effect because I'm aware I'm running the game with new drivers...
Still, tried a few of the latest and not so latest titles out and I've had no problems whatsoever, going to see if the Witcher 2 has seen a little improvement later... fingers crossed -

The fan management is definitely a lot better in these drivers. I use a laptop cooler as well which is extremely quiet but whilst playing Skyrim I've noticed that my GPU fans are at full speed all the time and only come in when it needs it compared to where it used to be on all the time.
I run Skyrim on Ultra settings with the high resolution texture pack and my overclock is in my signature. I have not seen any lag at all.
I also play Just Cause 2 a lot and I actually noticed an increase in performance with that as well. Maybe about 5 or 6 FPS and I also run Just Cause 2 at maximum settings.
I also used to get this weird issue in which my screen would turn black whilst in a full-screen game but the audio would continue playing and it would stick like that for about 20 seconds. Since updating, I've noticed any problems.
GET THIS UPDATE! -
Anyone tried OC the GPU with this driver yet?

Is anyone else having problems in Skyrim with these drivers?
i have a stock R2, I upgraded to these drivers from the 285.62 and have gone from 25-30 FPS in Skyrim (medium detail) to around 8 FPS. I checked settings were the same between the drivers and have now rolled back to 285.62 and am back to 25 FPS. -

Phiterfy: You can run it on R1 but you have to run NVDIA full time (discreet switch in BIOS) as I doubt it has support for R1 switchable. Its intended for Optimus systems (R2/R3)
"Note:
Hybrid Power technology with Intel chipsets is not supported by this
release." -
Interesting... there is no improvement in some games at all when I'm trying to OC my 335m after applying this new driver? I use EVGA precision atm
Does anyone have a same issue? Should I try MSI Afterburner? -
btw, got addicted with Skyrim in my R2 -
I have an r3 i7 and yes, I noticed a massive dip in fps on skyrim so will be going back to older driver -
Gmanpt: hybrid in this context was for switchable R1 style

"I have an r3 i7 and yes, I noticed a massive dip in fps on skyrim so will be going back to older driver"
ah not just me then, thanks for replying. Annoying, you think they'd have tested this especially since the beta release had changes specifically to improve skyrim performance. What driver are you using? I tried the earlier beta 290.53 but had a lot of BSODs with that one so still on 285. -
I thought the big draw for this driver was its improved skyrim performance? (I have an r2 but haven't tried it yet)
-
-
I am noticing some minor performance drops in all my games when using the 295.73. Going back to the 285 as well.
-
disregard this post
-
You might be on integrated graphics after installing the drivers, perhaps the optimus is not recognizing skyrim needing discrete graphics? Settings in the Nvidia control panel can also be investigated to see if you've got stuff implemented that's taking up some serious resources, along with making sure that skyrim is to be running with the nvidia card.
-
Nvidia is the primary - Dell is the 3rd party
-
-
did you ever get the "being stuck in integrated graphics" issue resolved? If not, try this. Restart, go into bios, then change the graphics setting to discrete instead of switchable. That should fix the issue. I tried replying in that post...but for some reason it seems to be closed. -
Dota 2 is working perfectly except for when I put the shadows on high kinda laggy. But other than that it's all good and performing well!
I also don't know why my post is closed... I never closed it but oh well, I already have my problem solved thanks to you -
After updating to 295.73, my CPU score raises from 4.4 to 6.0 and Gaming graphics jumps from 5.8 to 6.5
Interesting though it doesn't effect much.
however, there's a little performance increase in Saint Rows and Kingdom of Amalur (appx. 2 fps) -
295.73 Nvidia Drivers are out! (Not Beta Drivers!)
