    40C on Idle?

    Is it normal to get 40C on when doing nothing on the computer?

    On the R2 yes, it is common to get high 30's low 40's when on idle. If the laptop you are talking about is the one in your signature then I am not sure what the idles are because it is an R1 and they are known to run a bit cooler than the i5s and i7s.

    The temps are perfectly safe, but if you want to lower them try blowing the vent out with a can of compressed air if you have not to help clear out some dust and see what happens.

    mine sits at about 35-40c on intel gfx

    around 37-43c with nvidia gfx
