Hey all,
I know WEI doesn't matter too much, but I'm just curious why my i7 processor is stuck at 5.5. From a few searches, I've seen people with 5.6 going up to 5.9 when OC'd, but mine stays at 5.5 no matter what.
Without o/c I get:
Processor 5.5
RAM 5.5
Graphics 3.4
Gaming Graphics 6.4
Primary HD: 7.6
With o/c (162Hz) I get:
5.5
5.9
3.4
6.4
7.6
With o/c (164Hz) I get:
5.5
5.9
3.4
6.4
7.7
Can anyone tell me why my processor speed stays the same? Also, I'm very confused about this whole overclock business-- I've been reading that overclock actually makes it slower? I haven't done benchmarks myself, but if someone could point me in the right direction of what I should use and where I can share my info, that'd be great!
Thanks!

not to threadjack but what's the i5 WEI score
-
I have no idea. lol

but since always23 didn't seem to mind, here's your answer (I5, 4gb ram, 7200rpm hd, nothing oc'ed)
processor: 5.6
memory: 5.6
graphics: 3.5
gaming graphics: 4.7
primary hard disk: 5.9
Back to the original question, given that my processor score is larger than yours despite being the i5, why even bother trying to figure it out? Clearly WEI is a waste of time. Have you tried any real benchmarking programs? (If not, the benchmark thread links to a bunch of them.) -
I can't believe you got a 5.6! I know that WEI isn't the real deal, but I'm curious as to how windows decides to calculate this...
I read the benchmark thread, but I find it very confusing-- should I be using 3dmark06? Is that what most everyone has been using?
Thanks for the help. -
