Hello, guys I'm new to forums and having some major issues with my m11x, any help would greatly be appreciated.

1- Want to format and install windows, but I don't have the CD that came with my laptop, but I can use my friends CD which has a different serial number is that ok ? (I dunno if this info helps but I got mine from the US and he got his from the UK)

2- The reason why I want to format my laptop its because Its becoming INCREDIBLY slow its unbearable at times, I cant even play videos or even use firefox. Now the question is why did this happen ? I have no idea because I did a lot of things at once here is a list of things I did:
Updated Intel Drivers through windows update ( it wasn't the only thing I updated )
    Installed gamebooster 2 beta
    Turned overclocking to max
    Used throttle stop
    Installed bluetooth drivers

When does that happen ? Randomly, my laptop becomes slow and hot usually when I open a game or something that uses up performance. even when I close the overclocking and stop throttle stop I still have this issue.

3- If the damage is done to the hardware does the warranty cover it ? I really hope it does, I couldn't share lots of love with this baby ><"

4- Is upgrading to 8 GB ram worth it? I found those two, are they any good or do you recommend better/cheaper ones ?
    Komputerbay 8GB (2x 4GB) DDR3 SODIMM (204 pin) 1066Mhz PC3 8500 8 GB with SODIMM Heatsink for extra cooling: Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories
    and
    Komputerbay 8GB (2x 4GB) DDR3 SODIMM (204 pin) 1066Mhz PC3 8500 for Apple 8 GB: Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories

5- Can some one recommend me a good 1TB 7200 RPM hard drive ? Cause they don't seem to exist on amazon.

6- should I format ? Or just try something to fix my issues ?

7- And I forgot to mention that I start having sound issues at first and the instant I have the sound issues my laptop starts getting slower. When I restart my windows take ages to boot, but when it works it works fine until it randomly starts become slow.

Those are my questions, as for my computer details:
    M11x R2
    windows 7 64
    CoreI7
    4gb ram
    nvidia driver 258.96
    Bios: Alienware A02, 7/2/2010
    Intel Video Bios 1994.0

I hope that I provided all the necessary info, thank you for reading all the noobish questions and I would greatly appreciate any help ! Thanks !

    3. I would seriously doubt you damaged your hardware.

    4. 130 pounds for 8gbs? Really? What is that $220? I just spent $230 on a 128GB Vertex 2 SSD. That would be a far better upgrade then 8gb of RAM.

    6. Reformatting is always a good idea. Your system will be snappier. Starting with a blank slate is always better that trying to fix a system that is screwed up.
