I had the Intel 6200 on my old R1 but I gave it to my brother and now my signal is very poor when Im on campus so I decided to shove out some money on the 6300 (because I hear the reviews are better even if it has 3 antennas). Before I press check out, I was curious if any new half minis have been released that may suit my money better? If not Ill be more than happy to get this 6300 for 33bucks.

    Thanks,
    Deevu

My understanding is that the 6300 with only two antennas connected is going to work the same as the 6200, which is why I purchased the 6200 instead (which I'm very happy with). I think if you're going to run the third antenna, go for the 6300, but if not, the 6300 won't offer any advantages over the 6200.

Hmmm... well I think Ill go for the 6300 based on all these responses just purely incase I need the little extra boost in the future. Its only like 5 bucks for antenna and like 5-10 extra for the 6300. :) Thanks everyone

Can't you steal an antenna from the WWAN slot? Or is it just me that got the WWAN antennas without the card?

Just curious. How hard is this mod to do? Compared to say a hardrive upgrade.

If you can take of the bottom panel, remove the hard drive, loosen a screw and pull out the card. Then you can do this mod with no problem. It is about as hard as installing a stick of ram.

Thank you thats all I was asking. Most of the time these cards seem to be part of the mobo. At least thats been my prior experience so I was just curious.
