    Hello.

I have an Alienware M11x R2 and for a while I used a 120GB SSD. Logically, that being extremely small for all the Steam games and stuff, I tried to purge all things unnecessary.

Thing is I also erased the original HDD and the backup to the partitions got corrupted.

What I am asking is: is it possible somebody can do a backup of the recovery partition and share it? No, I cannot send the HDD to Alienware, yes, I have the recovery DVD (which is just a glorified Windows 7 Home Premium, there are no drivers or such things on it), yes, I tried recovering the partition with Active@ Partition Recovery and a dozen other software like that, nothing worked.

    Thank you.

Sorry I think you are out of luck. Only install Windows 7 from the recovery disc. Do not install anything else from the recovery disc, but get them from Dell's website for I think there is a firmware issue with the old files on the recovery disc pertaining to the command center.

Sorry, forum rules cover this - we do not permit sharing (this includes offsite links) of any copyright material.

At this point, your best bet is to stick with a clean install of Windows followed by a recovery of the Alienware "look and feel". We have threads on both of these items - see the general info sticky in the main AW forum (also appears in my signature - red link).

Might want to reach out to AW Support - perhaps they can assist you.

    Thanks.
