can I use a Xbox 360 controller on the M11x r1 or does it have to be a microsoft or original Xbox 360 controller? I am asking because I picked up a aftermarket 360 controller and I dont want to tear it open if it will not work.

    Any help is great!

    Thanks

Do yourself a favor and just get the Official XBOX 360 wired USB Controller. Some of the aftermarket 360 controllers are made for the 360 and do not have Drivers out there for Windows. If the package says 360 and PC then you should be ok but if not I would just get the Official Controller.

    Good Luck

ok thanks... just going to stick with the wired one then. Looking at hooking up the M11x to the TV via HDMI and playing on that with the 360 controller.

Yes. You need that... That is why I prefer to use a PlayStation3 SIXAXIS DUALSHOCK Controller... It only needs a Bluetooth Dongle and that is cheaper than that receiver...

I use motioninjoy and the sixaxis works perfectly...

I said it woulda worked fine, but yeah, official is always best.

not to mention you can just buy a pc version of the 360 controller that comoes with the receiver

Use a PS3 controller is the best option. All the features work perfectly on the PC.

    • 6 Axis(Motion Sensor)
    • Triggers
    • Internal battery
    • rubble
    • etc

You can use it wired with a simple Mini USB Cable, or if you want to use it wireless you just need any USB bluetooth dongle, or just use the bluetooth of the m11x...

You can connect 2 sixaxis with one bluetooth, and also the games will recognize it as a XBOX 360 controller (XInput)...

For me, the best gamepad on earth is the SIXAXIS...

I was wondering if you know if the Dell built-in bluetooth will work with the sixaxis?

I already have a cheap mini usb bluetooth dongle that I know won't work with the sixaxis (limit support) and I already know which brand will work with the sixaxis. But lately, I realize I should have order my R1 with the bluetooth option. I need the extra usb port at times and no matter how small it is, it still sticks out.

Motioninjoy works with Dell built-in bluetooth..., but sometimes it lags... That is why I use a Broadcom dongle and 0 problems... Dell built-in bluetooth works perfectly on windows 7 32 bits using BtSix.

Ok thanks HEUR. I think I might stick with buying the built in bluetooth.

Does anybody who have the builtin Bluetooth know if there's a bluetooth LED when I have it enabled?

What he said. You don't have to install anything. I have a few wired 360 controllers. MS or not MS they all just worked.

The 360 controller will work out of the box with no drivers to install. The PS3 controller is connected via Bluetooth(do you have Bluetooth on your laptop?) and needs a 3rd party driver to work on windows.

The 360 vs PS3 controller is more of which form factor you like more. I prefer the feel of the 360 controller but others like the PS3. Its a personal decision.

    Good Luck

If you are not conformable making tweaks within Windows then the PS3 route is not advised. But here is a step by step directions for it.

How to Use a Playstation 3 Controller in 64 bit Windows 7 and Vista

Me personally would just get the 360 wireless controller kit I posted earlier.
Its about the same price as a PS3 controller and alot less hassles.

    But its your choice.

ok, got a PS3 controller... installed MotioninJoy software. Have it all set up and can see in when I calibrate it.

Now how do I get it working with CODMW, CODBO and MOH in Steam? I can get it to work on MOH though my PC

I just skimmed through this, but is this for playing emulators? I really could not think of why someone would want to use a controller vs keyboard and mouse.
