    Hello there fellow Aliens,

A while back someone came up with the idea of using the lighting to indicate the status of the GPU. I loved this idea and have cooked up a small prototype.
Unfortunately it doesn't have anywhere near as much functionality as I would like. If somebody has experience using the LightFX.dll please contact me asap!

Please bare in mind this is only a proof of concept at this point to generate interest.

What my program does is turn off the all the lights when the GPU is not in use and turns them on when it is! It won't mess with your current profile, only toggle it.

It wouldn't be possible without the good work done by Nautis on the Optimus Test Tools found here, so props to him.

The source code can be found here.

    To download: http://rapidshare.com/files/434312810/Nvalien.exe

    To use:
Ensure 3rd Party AlienFX is enabled by right clicking the command centre and clicking Enable 3rd Party AlienFX, who would've thought.
Open the executable, it will in turn automatically extract and open the Optimus Test tool and the LightFX.dll.

That's pretty much it right now. To exit either click the tray icon and click exit or press Alt + F3.

    Let me know your thoughts,

    BitByteBit.

Doesn't seem to work on mine, it just shuts the AlienFX off as soon as the gpu kicks in and doesn't do a thing until I disable the "3rd party...." part of the AlienFX tab. Awesome idea but definitely needs some work. My mobo has been having some issues though so I can't garantee it's not possibly my computer causing the problem. I can verify it is a clean file and does nothing other than turn AlienFX off though, so if anyone else wants to try it you're good to do so.
