    Hi everyone!

So under the battery options for Power Saver, I set it up so AlienFX turns off when running on the battery. However, I tested it out by making AlienFX also turn off when I'm running on Power Saver with the charger plugged in.

So when I switch to Power Saver, either way the lights should go off once I switch from High Performance to Power Saver, correct?

However, it doesn't do that. Also do you have to have AlienFX running for the FN + PRT SCRN button to be functioning? I'm guessing you do since it doesn't work when the .exe is not running.

I just want it set up so when I pull out my laptop in class and switch it to Power Saver, the lights instantly go off. Is that possible?

EDIT: Just tried pulling the charger and then switching it to Power Saver from High Performance, the lights still don't go off. Does it also help that I'm not running AlienFX? Or do I have to be running it for this function to work?

    Thanks a lot everyone!

Yeah, you have to be running the AlienFX function for it to work.

    That's what I thought too.
So I have Alienware Alien FX running now.

However, when I still go on Power Saver from High Performance, the lights don't turn off. (With or without the charger in)

Does anyone have any other ideas?

I have the same problem too. I just use the Fn+Alien FX button to switch it on/off

The functionality is not supported/is misleading. What happens is that AlienFX events are shut off. If you want the lights off on battery (all models), you have to select Go Dark or use the function command. :(

I've sent this over to the various AW reps we have here. Hopefully, in a future release it will be implemented.

Yeah, but I don't want to be running AlienFX at the start up while in class/on the go. It slows down the boot up process and eats some battery.
    :(

Aw, well thank you for doing so.

HOWEVER, I have some semi good news. Somehow my laptop (without it being plugged in with the charger) starts up in High Performance (I'm guessing it does because the screen is at full brightness when I turn it on and the keyboard is lit up) and as soon as I login the M11x goes into Power Saver and all the keyboard lights turn off. (It happens when AlienFX starts up while you can see your desktop after logging in so the lights are on for a bit after logging in)

I've tested it with and without, "Keep Status Zones On During Go Dark" and it still works. I have it so, "Enable 3rd Party AlienFX Access" is turned on.
*Also to point out I have it set up so AlienFX boots up at the start instead of disabling it under msconfig.

Under my PowerSaver settings, I have AlienFX set to, "Off" while on battery.

I pulling out the plug and set my M11x to Power Saver, but the lights don't turn off. (After logging in and seeing my desktop)

I hope this is helpful to some people.
