From the day i got my M11x, my AlienRespawn hasn't been working. It was fine at first, but the moment i started installing stuff on the laptop, launching AlienRespawn would just give me an "Unhandled exception occurred. Application will now exit." error message with a "DataSafe" title.

I can't launch it at all, and the only thing i've uninstalled is the Webcam utility so that couldn't have caused any issues. I'm certain that if i did a system restore back to the very first restore point, it will start working again. Because at first i messed up my drivers and this exact same thing happened, so i went back to the first restore point and then used the AlienRespawn to re-format it back to factory settings and started allover again. But I've already set this laptop up so that's not something i want to do (again).

Are there any fixes or should i just be looking at removing it completely? :/

    R2.

I have whatever DVD came with the laptop too, but I'm not going to buy and carry around an external drive just for that. If the Respawn is broken somehow then i'll remove it, but i want to know if i can fix it first.

Would i still be able to create a restore media if i uninstall AlienRespawn and re-install the one from here http://alwdownload.alienrespawn.com/alwdownload-en.html ?

//Edit: OK i did that - I uninstalled and reinstalled it, and i'm STILL unable to open Respawn and getting the exact same error. Ideas?

//Edit #2: I'm getting the exact same error when i plug my external drive into the laptop. It seems like I'm having the exact same issue as this guy http://forum.notebookreview.com/ali...d-exception-occured-aplication-will-exit.html who didn't get any responses at all. I tried calling Dell support but as usual they are useless, just told me to format ect.
