Mine is the same, but in mine I have to be at the perfect angle to see the light, I almost need to put my nose near the light speaker to see it....

    I think is normal....

No light leakage on mine and this isn't something that's been reported here much more than once or twice that I've seen. My guess is that the lower chassis shell is malformed or it's missing a screw there. The chances of it being the palm rest is pretty low, but a possibility as well. It's difficult to say based on the photo you've posted. A well lit close-up of the seam would be helpful.

Can you lift the corners at all by the lights, or do they feel pretty solid?

If you open the bottom, there are holes with a 'p' marked next to them...these secure the hand rest to the bottom. They may be loose. Mine was actually missing two screws, and you could lift it up. Worth a check. If it's not tightly secured, light will shine through.

Looking at your photo, that part does not look like it's fully screwed down, unless the plastic is warped or something. If it's just a bit loose, easy fix. Just use a small screwdriver so you don't strip the screws.
